Red liquid remained around where Y/ns leg. She gestured for the young princess to come closer. "I'm going to change the colour of your cloak, make sure you keep warm. This will help prevent you from being seen. I won't be able to stay with you, but I will find you,"
"You're leaving me?" Hearing the soldiers stomping heavy footedly coming closer with every passing second, Y/n cast her magic protecting the blonde girl.
"Get out of here, I'll stall them."
"But who will protect you? Where is Dobe? Will he protect you?"
"No, he went off with a shepherd to walk him to the neighbouring city, he still has a few days until he makes it back and by then I'm sure he'd have heard the news. He will be with you, I'll send him looking for you, now leave!"
"Once I return to you, I promise I will return this favour." And with that, the young girl ran into the woods vanishing. Laying her head back into the snow she took a deep breath, in an attempt to stand and stall as she had promised the young woman. The sword did little to no good in supporting her leg.
Y/n collapsed and took the sword from her leg tightening the bandage. She used the sword as a walking stick getting up immediately seeing a small group of the Nilfgaardian army coming towards her. She raised her free hand thinking of the flashiest and most intimidating spell she knows in order to scare them away rather than actually beating them because she knew deep down that if she tried to fight that it would end with her head five feet away from the rest of her body.
Golden lines of spell casts surrounded her as golden threads weaved in the most gorgeous pattern that you can imagine. Y/ns eyes were shut trying to make the spell bigger and bigger. As the threads weaved together a large dragon head and its upper body was formed, the Nilfgaardians charged for the 'animal'.
The dragon head managed to let out a roar and lunged for them, with her other hand she let go of the sword balancing on one leg now releasing fire from her palm making it look like the dragon was breathing fire.
This caused the small portion of the army to charge back with more force. they broke the illusion causing it to disperse into the air. Y/N was knocked to the ground causing some soldiers to trip over her.
She lay on the floor in pain trying to control her breathing knowing that if she was to get back up, she would wind up going straight back to the floor she laid in the melted snow on her side. Just as a soldier raised their weapon, she closed her eyes.
The axe came down to make contact with her throat only to shatter into rubble.
Meanwhile on the other half of the forest slowly approaching the battlefield Geralt was sitting on Roach. Geralt's head was filled with constant glimpses of a fight and noises which seemed inconsistent as if it was glitching back and forth, it simply could be described as an insanely painful migraine.
"Roach, I sure hope you aren't being put through whatever this is." Roach tossed his head up and down in response to Geralt talking to him which seemed to have become some form of a habit. He wasn't following any particular path through the woods. Roach stopped not wanting to continue, Roach was wiser than half the humans because Roach tended to avoid being killed. Geralt got down from the horse and ventured onward carefully. He kept walking to see a large flame being emitted from what looked like a golden dragon.
He watched from afar as the group fighting the beast charged at it causing it to disappear. He noticed the woman who was shoved to the ground and ran back to his noble steed. Geralt jumped up onto the horse making the horse take off in the direction of the woman he had met over three days ago.
