Chapter 9: I Won't Say I'm in Love

      I made my way to Lovestruck. Sometimes I "worked" there as a waitress. This was one of those days. Today had been a long day with the science fair and that time loop that everyone else forgot about. At least it was fairly slow tonight.
     I was leaning against the bar taking a short break. My thoughts start to drift to the Tarrons. I could help but think of the time at the taco truck when Aja floored Steve. I could not help but giggle. This drew Cupid’s attention.
      "What are you laughing about, Kitten?"she asked.
     "Just think about how this boy in my class has fallen madly in love with a girl who beat him up", I said
     "This girl, she one of your new friends", she said, I just nodded, "Care to go into more detail"
     "I was following them because I knew to make sure a problem was taken care of", I said, "The boy attacked my friend's brother and after the boy punched her brother. I stepped in to break it up and pushed the boy for my friend to take care of. I then went to help her brother"
I could not help but blush at the memory. Cupid smiled.
      "You think our little bird is really in love", I heard Circi say startlingly me.
     "What would make you say that", I shot.
     "Is your friend's brother's name Krel Tarron", Cupid said, I had never told either of them Krel and Aja names. I now realized trying to deny it was pointless, the goddess of love had spoken. But, I was hellbent on not admitting it. In the snap of her finger, Circi started the music. Most of the patrons were used to this. I mean, Flara Midnight, the musical superstar did frequent the place.
     "If there is a prize for rotten judgment, I guess I already won that", I sang as I wiped down the bar. Cupid and Circi were sitting on it. I pushed them off to finish wiping it down.
     "No one is worth the aggravation", I thought of how many times people never bothered to stick around, or died. I knew he would have to go home eventually and where would that leave me behind. "That is ancient history, been there, done that."
     "Who ya think you're kidding, he's the earth and heaven to ya, Try to keep it hidden", I sit down on a barstool and they start spinning it, "Honey, we can see right through you."
"Girl, ya can't conceal it we know how you're feeling who you're thinking of", They stopped spinning me.
      "No chance, no way, I won't say it no no", The bar had pretty much emptied out so I started clearing tables. Cupid and Circi followed.
       "You swoon, you sigh, why deny it, uh-oh."
       "It's to cliche, I won't say I'm in love",I finished kept clear and put the glasses away, "You'd think a heart would learn its lesson it feels so good when you start out", I then made my way to the back to the bar and pulled myself on top of it, "My head screaming get a grip girl unless your dying to cry your heart out".
      "You keep on denying who you are and how you're feeling". Cupid shot me a sad look, "Baby we're not buying, Hon we saw you hit the ceiling", Circi replayed the time I first met Krel, in Uhl office.
     "Face it like a grown-up when you gonna own up that you got, got, got it bad", I made my way to the stage.
     "No chance, no way, I won't say it, no, no"
     "Give up, give in", Circi made an illusion of Krel and I nuzzle up purring a little,  
     "Check the grin, you’re in love"
     "This scene won't play", I said scowling and waving my hand through the illusion to make it disappear, "I won't say I'm in love"
     "You're doing flips, read our lips, you’re in love"
     "You're way off base I won't say it", I step off of the stage
      "Get off my case I won't say it",
      "Girl don't be proud, it's okay you're in love", I sit on the stage
      "Ohh, at least out loud, I won't say I'm in love", I lean back and lay on the stage spreading wings across the solid wood.
      "Fine", I said," I, Ash Fireheart, am head over heels in love with Krel Tarron" 
      "But it is not like I plan to act on it"
Circi and Cupid just look at each other. Circi smiles, "We'll see about that"
Cupid POV
After Ash leaves, I slap Circi. Who lets out a hiss,
"What was that for"
"I know what you're thinking", I said, my voice was stern.
"Your one to talk", she said, "You shove people into relationships all the time and even have Ash help you"
"I guide, not force", I said, "I put the piece in place for them to realize what they already felt"
"So, you were encouraging them to admit it"
"To us, to themself, they are calling them her friends, it's so hard for them to care or trust, remember what happened with Rina, remember what happened with Trinia"
"I know”
"Nothing I said matters", I said, shaking my head, knowing she was going to try something. I know she has the best of intentions, but she was just going to push our girl back in her shell.
