It had been 3 weeks since the last and Luci was on her way back home from New York. Zane had finally perfected the cake. A smaller replica of the wedding cake they had. He tried to make it as spot-on as possible for Luci. He loved her so much and he wanted their anniversary to be perfect. After a long month of working for Luci, she deserved to be treated like a queen.
He drove to the airport as soon as he got his favorite pictures. The ones of her with a coffee at her favorite cafe at LAX. Lucinda always got coffee, without a fail.
As soon as he entered the building he looked for the coffee shop. There it was, and there was Lucinda.
"Did you miss me?" he asked her from behind.
She turned around and jumped into Zane's arms. As they twirled around, she kissed him like they were star-crossed lovers meeting for the first time.
Luci let go and grabbed her coffee, "I've never been happier to hear your voice."
"You say that every time, Lucinda," Zane said, looking at his beautiful wife.
"Yeah, and you know you love it," she winked at him with mischief in her eyes.
"Sure," Zane said before pulling her in for one more kiss.
As soon as they got home, Zane mentioned to Luci that she should get ready to go out. Luci got dressed, confused. When she exited the bedroom wearing a short red dress, Zane was wearing a similar tux to the one he wore for their wedding. Lucinda blushed as she grabbed his arm and was escorted out to the car.
"Where are we going?" Lucinda questioned, stepping into the car.
"You'll see," Zane said with one hand on the steering wheel and one on Lucinda's left thigh.
As soon as they got close, Lucinda knew where they were. The restaurant where they had their first date at. A beautifully decorated Italian restaurant.
"Zane, you didn't!" Lucinda said as Zane parked in the parking lot of the restaurant.
"I did," Zane said, opening Lucinda's door and locking his arms with hers.
They walked up to the restaurant and got seated at their table. Lucinda thanked Zane for the dinner and they ordered their drinks.
After they ordered, they ran through their weeks and the fun they had. A little into the conversation, a familiar ginger sat right in front of them with a brunette next to him. Zane thought "nothing" of it. It couldn't be him. No way. Zane thought to himself. As his wife was eating, he stared longingly at the table near them. Then he heard the dreaded name, "Thank you for taking me out to dinner, Kai." said Vylad.
Zane choked on his drink and Kai looked back for a split second to check what was wrong. They locked eyes and the memory of before flooded back for both of them. Kai turned back to his food as quickly as he could and excused himself to the restroom.
5 minutes go by and Zane goes to the restroom to freshen up. Kai stepped out of the stall behind him.
"Oh, uh, hello Zane," Kai said, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Funny seeing you here! This is a very familiar predicament we've found ourselves in, huh?" The meifwa laughed as he tried to move to wash his hands.
"Yeah, funny," Zane said, leaving the washroom. Kai let go of the breath he was holding and lowered the controls on the remote. "Almost caught me for the second time there.. heh."
Zane walked over to the table and sat back down, "Hey Luci, are you finished?" He asked.
"Yep, thank you again, Zane," Lucinda said, placing her fork down on her napkin.
"Perfect, there's another surprise waiting for you at the house. I'll pay and then we'll head home, okay?" Zane said, before asking the waiter for the check.

They stepped onto the front porch and Zane had stopped Luci with a tap on her shoulder, handing her a box.
"What's this?" Lucinda said before opening the gift.
"You'll see," Zane said.
Inside the box lay a blindfold folded in the box.
"Wow Zane, 3 years of marriage and I didn't know you were into this stuff," Lucinda laughed as she pulled it out of the box.
"Oh, shut it. Just put it on," Zane said, wrapping the blindfold around her eyes.
He led her through the house before sitting her down at the table. He brought out the cake and placed it on the table in front of her.
"You can take it off now," Zane said.
Lucinda pulled down the blindfold and cupped her mouth with her hands, "Zane! Did you make this?" she stammered.
"Yep, just for you, my love," Zane said, handing her a fork.
"You don't have to eat it all, I just wanted to do something special for you," Zane said.
"Thank you for the best years of my life, Zane," Lucinda said before taking a bite of the beautifully decorated cake.
