Iris sat on the lush earth, surrounded by her friends and some so-called 'enemies'. All confused about what was unfolding before them.
Wilbur and Dream stood in the far distance, in a deep conversation with no indication of whether it was going well. She watched as Wil's trenchcoat whipped back and forth in the wind, barely visible in the dark of night. On the other hand, Dream stood arms crossed, appearing to come across as annoyed.
It had been a considerable time since Wil announced the sudden truce of war. With only the moon settling into the horizon to tell the time, it could be argued that it had been a little over an hour.
Iris could remember her friend's eyes filled with confusion and concern upon seeing Dream by her and Wil's side. At the time, Dream said no more than the words 'Lower your weapons'.
They all looked to her for confirmation, to which she responded with a slight nod.
Now here she was, sitting amongst the almost frozen flowers with her friends. Still keeps a keen eye on her friend in case of any foul movements.
A bad taste remained lingering in her mouth after hearing Wilbur consent to Dream's notion of speaking alone with no guard. How ignorant could he be?
The redhead scoffed, continuing to rip out the weeds from the ground – a small antic she had picked up from her brothers when they were stressed.
"I know you wanna be up there with him. But we all have to bite our tongue and wait," muttered Tubbo from behind her. He was finishing re-tying bandages around her wounded arm since he reapplied some needed instant health. Which Techno graciously gifted.
Iris answered back with another huff, but Tubbo knew she only wanted the best for Wilbur. The brunette smiled, tucking the extra fabric into the bandage; he also knew she would do anything for that man.
He exhaled, sitting back into the grass, admiring the stars above, "you're all done. Pain should be minimal now, but there will be scarring."
Iris craned her neck down to look at her newly fashioned bandage. Although it had been a few hours since she was shot, she felt like she had full mobility in her arm again. With her good arm, she leant over to Tubbo and ruffled his curly brown hair that began to grow over his eyes. "Thanks biggums."
She earned a short chuckle from the younger boy, joining him stargazing. It wouldn't hurt to have a short break while waiting for the discussion to cease.
Over the hill, where most of Dream and Schlatt's allies stood, Sapnap watched his sister with a pang of gut-wrenching guilt. He had never intended to harm her in any way. It was always her instinct to help others before herself, so he should have known she would put herself in harm's way.
On the other hand, Punz was becoming annoyed with Sapnap's fruitless actions. "Why not just apologise?" His back was towards the girl – not wanting to leave sight of Dream's figure in the distance – but he knew she was okay.
