Angelina's POV:
We finally made it onto the plane and I couldn't be more excited! The inside is so pretty. It has couches and chairs that look like they're made of clouds. There's also a tv where papa said I could watch a movie later if I wanted to.
We go settled into our seats and we took off towards New York. My ears started to hurt so Tonio told me to hold my nose, close my mouth, and try to blow out. My ears popped and they finally felt better again. I gave Tonio a kiss on the cheek for making me feel better. His face was so funny after I did that, he looked so shocked. I started laughing at him which made papa start laughing too.
"So principessa, we wanted to talk to you and get to know you better," Papa said. I looked into his eyes and saw genuine interest. I looked over to Tonio to see he had the same look as well. I knew I could trust both of them.
"What do you want to know?"
"What's you favorite color, food, movie, animal, pretty much everything!" Papa exclaimed. He seemed so excited to learn everything about me.
"Slow down dad, don't overwhelm her," Tonio laughed.
"Well my favorite color is yellow because it reminds me of sunflowers, which are my favorite flower because they always face the sun. My favorite movie is Finding Nemo because when Nemo gets lost, his dad does everything he can to find him and Dory is so funny. I love her whale impression," I stopped and gave them my best whale impression that I had been practicing before Mama started sniffing the white powder. They laughed so loudly, which caused me to erupt in a fit of giggles. "My favorite food is french toast with lots of chocolate sauce and syrup, it just tastes so good! Lastly, my favorite animal is a wolf because they represent family and loyalty which are the most important things to me. This is Mr. Wolfy, the nice librarian gave him to me because mama forgot to get me a birthday present after she started sniffing the white powder."
They both froze, and I was afraid I did something wrong.
"Angel, we wanted to ask you some questions about what happened when you were with Eleanora, is that okay?" Tonio asked me softly. I thought about it for a minute. I needed to make sure that they wouldn't hurt me, I needed to make sure that I could trust them. I looked deeply into both their eyes and saw only concern and curiosity, so I decided I could trust them with this. I started to explain what happened the first time mama sniffed the white powder.
"After that they became really mean. Mama never baked or danced with me anymore and they started hitting me a lot." I looked up at them and both of their expressions had darkened.
"Principessa, when we were at the police station you said that you didn't have a lot things because you were a bad girl and bad girls don't deserve nice things, what did you mean by that?" Papa asked me with a strained voice.
"Finny said that I was being a bad girl, so he and Mama took most of my toys at first. Then they took my clothes, and then my bed so I was left with only a sleeping bag and a pillow."
"What did you do that made him call you a bad girl?" Tonio asked.
"I didn't make breakfast on time once and then I forgot to put Finny's big boy drink with his dinner one night. Then I was asking mama too many questions. More things like that." They both took a deep breath, but it seems like they have calmed down a little bit.
"Angelina I need you to listen to me very closely. You are not a bad girl, the things you did were accidents, things you shouldn't have even had the responsibility of doing, and asking questions isn't a bad thing. Being curious about the world around you just shows how much you're willing to learn. You deserve the whole world and more principessa," Papa said with misty eyes. "Now, you said that they h-hit you a lot, are you hurt anywhere right now?"
