Briars POV

"Briar, I need to see you in my office please" Miss Clarence demands, I roll my eyes, not in the mood for a lecture about why I shouldn't hit people (even if they are homophobic dickheads)

"Before you shout at me can I just say that Billy had it coming, he's a dickhead, and I'm not apologising" I blurted out, not even bothering to sit in seat across from her.

Miss Clarence took a deep breath "sit down Briar, this has nothing to do with Billy Crosdale, though we will have to talk about that now you've informed me of it"

Great, I grassed myself and Billy up.

"I've actually called you in to discuss a possible adoption-"
"I'm sorry what? Adoption? Who, who in their right mind wants to adopt me?" I interrupted, sitting up abruptly in my chair "well, I didn't say they were in their right minds, only that they want to adopt you" Miss Clarence said, laughing to herself.

Bitch.

"You must've talked to them at the fair yesterday, Gabriella and Mia-the rich lesbo's"
"First of all, that's a slur, don't say it again. Secondly, why? I was a bitch to them" I said, convinced it was some kind of sick joke.

"We'll apparently they like bitches, go make yourself look presentable they're coming to formally meet you this afternoon" Miss Clarence's snapped, refusing to apologise for using a slur and instead telling me I look disgusting in her own special way.

Without another word I left her office, making sure to slam the door shut just to piss her off, and making my way up to my room.

"Fuck off" I deadpanned when I walked in to see Micheal, the dumbfuck I have to share a room with, playing on the new phone his dad got him because who needs a caring father when you can have one that dumps you in a foster home only to gift you expensive gadgets and empty promises. Micheal brags about him like he's a fucking hero, one day he's gonna wake up and realise he's just a rich narcissistic asshole who'll trade his kid for a hot girl half his age.

Micheal just rolled his eyes and left the room. I could be stuck with a worse roommate I guess, at least he acknowledges and accepts the fact that I'm girl and gives me the privacy I need, even though I'm still made to sleep on the boys corridor "for the girls safety and to avoid inappropriate behaviour" the fuck do they think I'm gonna do? Grope them in their sleep? For the hundredth time I'm not a fucking boy!

Once Micheal was out they way I decided Miss Clarence may have been partially correct and a the shirt I slept in with joggers two sizes too big was probably not the best outfit to wear in front of potential parents.

I settled on a black shirt over the top of a fishnet top tucked I to a black skirt, finished off with a belt, chains and necklaces.

Briars outfit:

More people hate my style and I knew more than a few of the kids in this house will have some slurs and curses ready to throw at me, but it makes me feel feminine and confident so I don't really give a shit

If people have a problem with me just being me they can go cry about it to someone who actually gives a fuck and news flash, that's not me.

I spent the rest of the morning listening to music and reading until the door bell rang. For some reason I actually felt excitement bubble inside me and I trialed downstairs.

Maybe this is the start of my happy ending...
