A large mass of stone with four pillars, that's what the library was on the outside. Going up the many shallow steps to the entrance luthien tries to open the doors, to no avail. This was the same with Twig and honey who also tried to open the heavy doors, but when Payne tries he did it with ease. This shocked the group and left them wondering just how strong Payne was as they all hurried inside.
Inside, it was almost magical. The insides were stone with carefully carved and crafted stone shelves with grimoires galore and in the ceiling there were glowing blue stalactites casting a very mysterious yet beautiful glow giving the library an almost magical kind of vibe. The group split up among the aisles looking for a book that fit their purpose, scanning spines and skimming through books with a possible lead only to come with nothing.
Sitting down at a table inside, the four regroup and start to discuss where they looked and what they found but were left empty handed. Overhearing the four, a man holding a book about the exact subject they were talking about and looking for walked over to them.
"Um, excuse me.." his voice was shy
The four looked up at him; a half elf with short, neatly combed brown hair that was parted to the side and small round glasses on the tip of his nose. He was clad in black and purple with a small satchel around his body carrying different scrolls; perhaps he was a scribe?
"Sorry to interrupt you four but I heard you guys were discussing Grinions? I think I may have the book you guys were looking for." He says politely, setting the book down on the table and walking away without a chance for the group to say thank you or know anything about himself.
The party looked at each other and shrugged it off but they all had a feeling he didn't belong there since he wasn't a dwarf and that they would meet again very, very soon. Payne slides the book over to himself and reads the title aloud, it said "The History of Grinions" with an image that resembled those things Luthien, Payne and Honey fought some time ago. Payne proceeds to skim through it until stopping upon a page that gave him the exact information he was looking for. So these were the things blocking the trade routes.
"It seems they speak in undercommon so someone needs to know at least a little bit of the language to decipher what they're saying." Twig points out.
"That might be the smartest thing you have said all day." Payne says honestly. Luckily, I know that language." He turns to look at the book again but is taken aback as a magenta light comes from his halberds. His halberds are now fused creating a singular halberd with a different message
"Not all Grinions are evil, You'll know when you see me."
Luthien lets out a hum of thought "based on what we know, this one might have something different about them, perhaps their markings? It also seems like it wants to help us." Luthien thinks aloud.
"Agreed." Honey nods "then what are we waiting for? To the mines!" She whisper exclaimed and hurried off with a rabbits speed. Giving no one enough time to put the book back as they quickly follow after honey into the mines.
