Leandros POV

Walking up to the Crescent Moon pack house, I feel my wolf stirring itching to be given all control, but I reel him in. He must be nervous about being at a different pack since everything that had happened however, it felt like there was something else hidden in his temperament, a feeling I could not exactly describe other than angst and anticipation, as if he was excited for something.

But restraining him will definitely prove to become an issue this weekend. He needs to hold it together. Kostas was itching just below my skin, prancing around. Smiling and panting like a pup.

I mind link my pack, guards, go secure the perimeters, for the rest of you, stay close until introductions, but you may shift back and change.

Running off, the pack went to go follow my orders, as I went behind a tree to change back and put on my basketball shorts. Looking around, I can see why my wolf was uneasy. Something does not feel right here. What has changed since I have been gone? Why does it feel so erie?

Walking up to the pack house with my bag in hand, I approach the front door of the pack house and knock. Opening up the door, the Alpha's son Jamie answered the door. Growing up, I had met Jamie a few times but never had any interest in interacting with him, but he always approached me. He was always a self-centered, egotistical, and entitled child. He never cared about anyone else, and always wanted life to go his way. No thanks to his father, it appears nothing has changed.

With his chin raised and shoulders tiled back, he crossed his arms over his chest to appear more masculine and to show off the fit figure he had been working hard to achieve.

"Good Afternoon Jamie. Where is your father?" I raised my eyebrow questioning him on why the Alpha did not great me.

"Hey Leandros. Still straight to the point I see. You can answer to me, I am the future Alpha and I am here to show you all to your rooms. Father is busy preparing for the ball this evening." Sending me a smirk, he opens the door wide to invite my pack inside.

"You are aware that is customary for the Alpha to great his king, do you not?" I scoff, entering inside the pack house and following Jamie to the guest wing of the pack house. While this is one of the bigger packs, there is also a reason on why they are dwindling in numbers.

The Crescent Moon pack is known to be a more traditional and misogynistic pack. While the Erebus is known to be the most brutal of them all. Since my father was Alpha, were given the title of the 'Untouchable' and the most feared from that all.

Since my father passed, that could be nothing but the truth, we all hold hard exteriors due to the torment we had to go through with my father, but once you break our shells, we are just like the rest of them.

They still allow for the male mate to dictate families, and will banish anyone to the no man's land who is gay, or do not fit into their traditional roles. They also do not like the way that I have been ruling and have done everything they could to make my life more difficult, and bury me in more paperwork.

Turning around, Jamie sighs "here are the guest quarters, everyone can find a room. If something is not to your liking let me know and I will have an Omega sent up to make any necessary arrangements." he looks me straight in the eyes and speaks directly to me.

"The ball begins at 6, do not be late." and he walks off, allowing for us to get settled into our rooms. I was in disbelief. Omegas? Are they really that old fashioned? Are they being treated well? Considering that my wolf was ready to jump out of my bones at the unease in the packhouse, and how silent it was without an Omega in sight, I would say they are not.

Traditionally Omegas are not to be seen, or heard. The only representation that an omega exists should be the work that is done when the pack is out of the house. I would have to find a few Omegas and ensure they are being taken care of and being treated fairly.

For now, I turn the handle and open the bedroom that I have chosen. The bedroom at the end of the hallway, that grants me full view of everyone's rooms.

Tunning into my senses, I listen into my surroundings. No one in my pack seem to share my feeling of unease, and are getting ready, excited to potentially meet their mates. Because of an attack on our pack a few years ago, some of the unmated females and males are past the age where they typically meet their mates of 21, while others are barely of mating age of 18. Hopefully this ball can bring some peace and serenity to my pack, and can allow for them to grow.

Walking into the room, I set my bag on the royal red comforter on the queen size bed and chuckle. Of course they would pick the color of royalty and sacrifice.

Locking the door, I go to the bathroom, and lock the bathroom door as well. Better to be on the safer side. Stripping out of my basketball shorts, and turning on the shower jumping in once I can feel the steam hitting my face.

Washing my body, and allowing for my brain to clear its mind of all the tension and unease.

---------------------

Walking out of my room, and peering at my watch. It reads 5:50 pm. Perfect, right on time. Adjusting my suit jacket, I button up the navy jacket at my chest, and run my hands through my brown, neatly pulled back hair and begin the descent down the stairs.

Entering the ballroom, Kostas begins to go crazy. What is wrong with him? He is never this jumpy. I pull the reigns letting him know he needs to calm down. At first he fights me about it, but after a few tries he settles down into the corner of my mind, just in time to witness Alpha stone approach me.

"Alpha Erebus, good evening" he states, as he goes to shake my hand. "Thank you for attending, I know this is a big deal for you and your pack, and I am glad you chose to come and join us."

"Good Evening Alpha Stone, the pleasure is mine. I figured it was time to show my face and to allow for the pack to find their mates in a positive manor. Too many of them are going into heat mateless." I respond, hoping he does not detect any of my uncertainty against his pack.

Alpha Stone's eyes glossing over as a sign of receiving a mind link "I'm sure they are practically bouncing off the walls over there! Well, I hope you do enjoy your evening however, it seems I have some business to attend to. Please let us know if you need any extra accommodations" nodding at his response, he steps out of the room.

----------------

A few minutes later I receive a mind link from one of my guards. "Alpha you need to come see this. Somethings not right. It is urgent." slipping passed everyone undetected, I listen to my men, and silently slip out of the room, ensuring no one is watching me.

Kostas is back into the front of my mind again. This is not something he is willing to budge on, and I cannot keep fighting him back, soon enough he will lose control and take over without permission, although with the sight in front of me, I fear I may allow him to cause mayhem, and join in with him.
