Ridley stood at the edge of his ship, staring into space. Today's escapade was simple, he just needed to mine out an asteroid and get the minerals inside. The minerals inside would have key ingredients to building his ship and making it bigger, if he had enough of it. His last fight with Samus had brought his ship's engine room down to a minimum and almost every cockpit was either damaged or scraped badly. He was lucky the ship even managed to start up otherwise he would be spending his time on some godforsaken planet doing hell knows what to get the parts he needed. Sometimes, he questioned his life choices, like why did he even become a space pirate. What was the use of conquering planets and claiming territories if it didn't bring him that same joy it did when he first conquered a planet? Oh, he remembered that day, it was what molded him into a space pirate tyrant. He took over the entire planet of SCT-67, and almost every single citizen who didn't appease to him did at the end. Hundreds of thousands of citizens were brutally murdered, it was definitely Ridley's finest hour. But looking back at it, he was questioning why he even needed to do it at all. I mean, what's the use if people fear you? Is there some sort of reward to being this tyrant who wants the alls-rules all? These were the questions running through his head while his ship navigated to Sector T, the best place in the galaxy where you could find plenty of asteroids. His team was on high alert, just in case they crashed into something, got dragged into a planet's atmosphere or encountered another enemy ship. After all, every single person in the entire galaxy probably felt that Ridley was bloodlust and nobody really could trust him. He only had a select amount of individuals who really felt like they could put their fate in his team, but what was the use? If only a few people trusted him, then was he really a respected tyrant? He should have all the great leaders of the galaxy worship and cherish him, but that was apparently not how logic worked when it came to being a villain. The team was coming up on the asteroid, and they had to be extra careful not to startle anyone. They had to be secretive, if anyone knew they were extracting minerals illegally, there would be serious bloodshed. Ridley was used to the drill by now, get as close as the ship could get, and then deploy the drill, it wasn't exactly rocket science. But it wasn't exactly easy either, the last few times ended up with his drills being shattered or melted due to the rock, his team really ought to be extra careful. That was the thing, there was only so many crew members who actually knew what they were doing. The only person that he most confided in was Fred, a lizard with a sharp brain and even sharper physical strength. He knew his way around, knew what to do in case of an emergency, and had been working for Ridley for over two years now. After the mining experience was over, maybe he could confide in him to tell that he wanted to relax for a bit. It was better not to rush things, if the entire team knew all at once, they would freak. They would be jobless, just until Ridley could find a new job for them. The team deployed their mining drills and started carefully digging into the rock. There was quite a ways to go, the best minerals were located near the center. If you broke the core, however, the whole rock would explode wasting all the minerals inside, and the broken pieces would collide with other meteoroids, moving their places and alerting the others of his presence. It had only happened once, a close call by one of his miners to collect resources near the core. That unfortunate team member died, Ridley didn't even feel all that sorry because he brought that upon himself by taking one risk too many. He wished all his teammates mattered, but frankly, they were pretty expendable. That was also another reason why he wanted to stop being this overlord. He hated treating people like they were objects of his doing, but his brain had mentally placed that thought into his head. It consumed him whole, his thoughts before were "Ok, it really doesn't matter if we lose this teammate, I can find a new replacement for him" or "If bloodshed must happen, then it happens. I don't see anything wrong with the brutalness of the situation, as long as it gets the job done." It was thoughts like this that kept him up at night, wondering why he even bothered being as evil as he was tall. His mind must have wandered off for too long because Fred was speaking into her ear."Uhm, sir, we have a problem."
Ridley said with a grim look" Oh, what is it now, I thought everything went according to plan, we were being so secretive."
"Apparently not secretive enough, looks like the IGF is sending a junkie out to stop us."
"Who, wait, I see the ship." The ship had a red and green logo on it in the shape of an S and it had red stripes surrounding it too. He knew what that ship was from the back of his eye.
"Oh come on, Samus, not now, I didn't think she would find out about this."Ridley knew Samus was a female because of her many, MANY attempts to beat him wearing nothing but a skintight, blue suit. He thought it was all for show, to prove that she was stronger than him even without her wearing the armor. Well, screw it, looks like they had to move locations but he wouldn't go down without a fight first."Ready the cannons, it's time we gave Samus a reminder of what we cannon do. Ha ha, get it, because can and cannon. No, tough crowd."
"Bruh, that joke barely made sense, it sounded can not do, which is not what we're trying to do. I'm confused now, do you want me to give the orders to raise the cannons."
"Yes, do it, raise the cannons, and prepare to fire on that ship."If there was one thing that Ridley loved to do that hadn't gotten old, it was mess with Samus. *Oh man, this was going to be fun*, Ridley thought to himself.
