It had been 3 years since Daniel Humphrey had graduated from Constance Billard-St and disappeared off the face of the earth and no one, not even his family knew where he was, no one had heard from lonely boy since that exact date. The graduation. The day he saw all his dreams turn into dust. It has been now, three years since the Archibald's stole his Ivy League spot, since Nate's' grandfather bought his way into Yale and Serena, the supposed love of his life, something he had once stupidly believed in, had flown off with Carter Baize, the escapade being documented by the many paparazzi that would do anything for a photo. Strangely enough, that same night, gossip girl disappeared and said that she was dropping her job and leaving it to whoever may the next gossip girl be, those were her exact words.
Of course, it was easy for the city of New York to forget about Lonely boy considering the new gossip girl never gave the people of the Upper East Side a break from posting scandals and juicy affairs in those years he was gone.
But now Dan Humphrey was back. For an unknown reason, he had just reappeared one day, somewhere no one expected him to be at. He was there in the city he despised, around people he despised even more for one reason, a reason no one ever expected, but he is completely different not only in his appearance but also now he was rich and even more influential than the great Chuck Bass. And no one was ready for what was about to happen, are the upper east sideres ready for what's about to happen. Not even Gossip Girl knew anything about this.
As for his wealth, well, you will discover soon enough that from a humiliated person great things may come. Now humiliated? Well, yes, before we continue, let's go back to the start. The graduation. The day everything began.
The day that would be the door to adulthood and there was Dan Humphrey sited next to all the rich people, the snobs that looked down on him, every one of them gossiping as always, and he was waiting for the moment that would determine his future. Regardless of everything, he kept his head down and played his role of the Lonely boy that Serena left, but there was something he had been working hard for it was getting into college, an Ivy League one to be precise Yale and the only other person that had got the interview with him, Nate. With Nate's grades, he should never even been next to the list, but well, money buys everything, Dan even after that thought he would get it since he was by far the smartest kid there, even though he never should be his full potential because he wanted to avoid being targeted by the rich kids.
Now they were saying the people accepted into universities. And it had finally gotten to Yale.

Those five words.
Everyone has a bottom line, and those five words were his bottom line. He saw his whole future go down at that exact moment. He planned for his future and for revenge or well at least for that at first, he would never again let anyone look down on him or do this kind of thing to him, never. And that was what he did. Maybe the reason he came back is entirely different than the reason he left, but his mind is still on the concept of never letting anyone humiliate him and look down on all of the people of his past, well almost every single one of them.
Dan Humphrey was back rich even if no one knew that, at least for now. Rich from what? You may ask. Rich from his collection of best-selling novels written under the pen name Damian Hunter.
