"What's wrong Harry? What do you know? "

"There's a reason why I can hear them. The horcruxes. I think I've known this for a while; and I think you've too".

Tears began to spill out of Hermione's eyes as she took a small step forward...

"I will go with you"

"No" just thinking that she would be in danger made him not want to go and stay protecting her forever  "kill the snake. Kill the snake and only he will remain".

And then it had only been a big hug, that was the last time she had had him with her.

............

The image of Harry walking towards the castle's exit was still in her mind at the same time that her throat ached from the piercing scream that had come out of her a few seconds ago, while Ron held her tight so she wouldn't go after the jet.

Sitting on the stairs sobbing and struggling, that was how she felt. On the other hand, Ron's voice cracked as he tried to speak to her and give her words of comfort.

But she didn't listen to him, at that moment she just wanted to run after Harry, stand up to anyone who wanted to hurt her, convince him that they still had a chance to win without him giving up.

But Harry was gone and that was the big problem.

"Let's go to the great hall, Hermione" Ron spoke again after a long time.

For her part, she only moved her shoulder away from the redhead's hand, who didn't want to let go of her so as not to let her escape, by order of Harry.

"No" her voice was just a whisper, but she made it clear that she wasn't going anywhere.

Ron sighed...

"I also want to stop it Hermione..."

"No, you don't. If you wanted to do it, you wouldn't have me held here" she cut him off with hatred.

"You know it's not like that" denied the boy tiredly  "Harry is my best friend, but at least, I want to do something that he asks me well, just this once, and if something happens to you out there, I know he I wouldn't forgive himself and neither would I" he said gravely.

For the first time Hermione heard him, but this didn't mean she changed her mind, which Ron misunderstood as the tears stopped coming from her eyes, so he gave her a little pat on the shoulder and gave her a small smile, a which Hermione ignored.

The two of them stared at the stairs, but Hermione was thinking of the best way to get to Harry.

He hadn't been gone long, so hopefully he would be reaching the edge of the forest.

Ron didn't seem distracted until Molly's piercing scream from the hallway distracted him, causing him to get up and forget about Hermione on the stairs.

"¡My little Fred!" Mrs. Weasley's sobs were uncontrollable and heartbreaking.

Hermione couldn't imagine how it felt to lose a child.

His chest ached when out of the corner of his eye she saw how Ron's face formed a grimace of despair as he reached his mother's side and hugged her.

A shuddering sigh escaped her mouth when she managed to see the empty stairs and the path completely free.

This was his chance...

Being stealthy, she got up in a slow movement from the stairs.

Ron and no one paid attention to her, they were all distracted.
