The midday sun shone relentlessly through the glass panel of the library's windows. Brochel was halfway done with his library duties for the day. It was lunch break, but he decided to visit the Overlord instead.

Carrying some books with him, the librarian made his way to the four-story main building where the Patriarch's office was located.

Servants greeted him along the way. Brochel would only nod and smile at them as he kept his pace until he arrived at his destination.

Butler John was standing outside the office. The butler bowed slightly to the librarian and spoke.

"You are here, Mr. Brochel."

"I'm here to report to the Lord, as usual."

Reports from Brochel were scheduled once every three days, with no particular time given. That meant he could come to the Overlord's office at any time of the day.

The butler gave him a nod, well aware of the purpose of his visit, before grasping the knob on the office door.

"The lord is with Mr. Clerivan right now, but I was told that you could enter."

"Ah. Alright."

John then gently pushed the door open. The sight of two figures came into view. As John said, Clerivan was also inside, sitting on the single sofa while talking to Rulac, who was seated in his usual spot; on the Patriarch's seat.

Both figures shifted their gaze to the door that suddenly opened, interrupting their conversation.

"Oh, Brochel is here. What good timing."

"Lord Rulac."

Brochel almost stuttered in front of the Overlord, doubting his eyes when he saw Rulac's radiant smile.

Rulac made a gesture with his arm, "Come and sit."

Brochel wordlessly obeyed and stepped inside the room, the door closing behind him at once. He proceeded to sit on the sofa that was opposite Clerivan's. The two also exchanged brief greetings before the librarian faced the Patriarch.

"Lord–"

"Wait, let's skip the report for now."

"Huh... Hmm. If that's what the Lord wants."

The old librarian responded to the Patriarch with utter confusion.

Rulac didn't further elaborate. He stayed quiet as his fingers slowly started tapping the book that was lying on the top of his desk.

"Mr. Brochel, do you notice something unusual these days?"

It was Clerivan who asked the befuddled elder.

"Something unusual...?"

Recalling his memories, Brochel could only think of one thing in particular.

"Well... if it's unusual, it would be that kid."

A little boy who keeps coming to the library and borrowing books, which contents most kids his age wouldn't be able to grasp.

"A kid, you say?"

Brochel briefly nodded in response.

"This kid, may I know who you are pertaining to?" After a slight hesitation, Clerivan asked the former professor once again.

"It is a child of Master Gallahan."

"A child of Gallahan-nim..."

Clerivan muttered something under his breath.

"Haha. Yes. It's his son, Callisto."

It was then, a sudden burst of laughter emerged, filling up all four corners of the room.
