Freya is the only living heir to house Atreides. She was just before Robert's Rebellion. During the rebellion her parents were killed by the Tywin Lannister due to the loyalty they had towards the Targaryen especially Rhaegar. She was saved by her personal guard and uncle Aegon Velaryon.
They left to the free cities where both of them became sellsword and eventually leaders of their group of 5000 people.
