Captain Hanji

Chap 2

A few days have passed. I've gone to the post almost 2 times a day, nothing from Hanji. It's about 2 o'clock. I slipped on my shoes and grabbed my bag. I left my cottage and walked along the gravel path. I finally arrived at the post.

"Valentina, you're here again? Well, a letter arrived for you." The receptionist assured me.

I spoke no words. I quickly grabbed the letter and left. I've been waiting days for this! It's finally here!!

I arrived home and quickly tore open the envelope.

"Dear Valentina,

I wrote as soon as I settled into my trip. We docked in Peru and I mailed this letter. I hope you've gotten it!

I promise you that I'll write a letter each week. I really hope you do decide to join my crew. I think you'll truly enjoy it. I grew up with most of them, my co-captain and cleaner is Levi. He's extremely stubborn and quiet, I think you two would get along. Jean, he controls our weaponry. He's very flirtatious and horse-like, if he ever hits on you I'll make sure he fully understands you're off limits. Armin, he's our commander, he keeps things in order. If something ever happens to me he's going to be the new Captain. Erwin, he's very special to me. I've always looked up to him before he passed. That's when I became Captain. Sasha, our cook. She makes the most delicious food. Although, she may eat it all before it's served. Mikasa, she's also very quiet. She helps with sails and much of the tougher work, I'm very proud of her. Annie, she mainly trains by herself but she helps around with combat training. Connie, he helps with any needed repairs and maintenance. Eren, still very confused on how or why I allowed him onto my ship. There's not much to say about him so I won't bother. But, you could be our most needed and important navigator.

I really do hope you decide on joining us. I would love to be able to see you every morning and every night.

I sighed and held the letter close to my chest. I looked back at the letter and smiled widely. I jumped up to my feet and sat down at my desk. I plopped my ink ridden quill onto scrap notebook paper..

"Hello,

I received your letter and quickly read it. Your crew seems like quite the handful. Must be hard, huh? I'm jealous of how you can deal with that. I'm an only child so I wouldn't know the constant interaction with others.

I have been thinking about joining you. I'm almost certain I will have a decision by the time of your return. I don't have much else to say. This is goodbye for now. Be safe, and get back soon.

I grabbed an envelope and sealed the letter shut. I walked to the nearest mailbox and slipped it in. Now we wait.
