Although Anna wanted to help, there wasn't much for her to do. Henry made certain that they were enough hands available to assist in the moving of Serena into the large carriage.

They consisted of three servants from Serena's estate who immediately nominated themselves when Henry made the pivotal decision that she should be moved from the Robins household immediately.

Thus, as they stood on the outside of the mansion, Anna was only able to watch from the sidelines besides Amelia, Bella and Dorothy. She felt useless once again and Henry could feel her despondency.

He glanced at her from his peripherals and after giving a few more orders, he made his way over to her.

"Okay, I think that will be it. I hope to see you again Anna." He smiled as he placed his hat back unto his head.

"Are you leaving already? I had tea prepared, I'm sure you can stay back for just a cup." Anna pleaded, mostly because she wanted Henry to tell her additional stories about Serena.

"It is rude of me to decline a hospitable invitation but, due to our inauspicious circumstances I am in quite a hurry."

Anna didn't understand the rush but did not want to wound his pride, so she smiled and nodded.

"Well, I hope to make your acquaintance again. You seem like a nice man."

"I would hope to believe so but looks can be quite deceiving Anna." He warned her and bowed to show his gratitude one last time. She curtsied in return.

He glanced to Anna's side, taking a look at Dorothy for a mere second then he walks back to the carriage.

"He's so handsome." Amelia fanned herself but Dorothy hushed her as Henry hadn't fully left as yet. Once the carriage exited the gate, Amelia continued.

"And so intelligent. Did you see the way he looked at you Dorothy? Wouldn't you like a man like that to sweep you off of your feet?"

Dorothy scoffed. "With the number of duties I have, there isn't any time for frolicking. On the topic of sweeping, isn't that something you should be doing currently? Anna's room? Remember?"

Bella and Dorothy stared at Amelia in disapproval which caused her to pout.

"You two are so boring." She looked at Anna. "Aren't they?"

"Don't include me on your mischief." Anna laughed to which Bella and Dorothy joined in on. Amelia was about to throw a bit of a tantrum until Dorothy decided to beat her to it.

"Did you not hear his warning, Amelia? There is no say to what that man might be capable of. All I saw in those eyes was a playful appetite that I do not want to sate."

She wouldn't admit that her heart had stopped for a second when he looked at her.

There was also something about those brown eyes that was arousing an intimacy she had neglected for the past few years.

Regardless of that, a woman of her low status had zero time for love. She also wouldn't attempt to cloud her mind with impractical fantasies. Her loyalties remained to the Robins household, and she couldn't afford to be distracted. She needed to look out for Anna and those below her.

She glanced at Bella and Amelia. She often believed they were her responsibility.

Taylor Robins gracefully ensured there wasn't a head maid as to prevent inequity due to the shift in power. Roles were delegated to servants upon arrival to the job by those who had been there the longest, and they all worked pleasantly amongst each other.

Nonetheless, she had gotten attached to these two girls as they spent plenty of nights talking to each other in their rooms. She felt like there was some obligation to be upheld due to her being the oldest. They were like little sisters she never had considering she was an orphan.
