cora tapped her foot against the porch, impatiently waiting for her brother to open the door.
finally, he opened the door. clay was dressed in some old sweatpants and a lazily thrown on graphic tshirt she had gotten him years ago. she was surprised he still had it, honestly.
he scrunched his eyebrows. "is that my hoodie? how the fuck did you even get that?" he says while moving out of the way so cora could step in, locking the door behind her.
she shrugged, kicking her shoes off. "i literally picked it up off of my bedroom floor so this is entirely your fault and absolutely zero my fault," she states, pulling her gift for him out of her pocket. "also, i got you chocolate. since it's valentine's day, and all."
clay snatches it out of her hands, reading the label. his face immediately scrunches. "why is there so much orange flavored chocolate in here? everyone knows the strawberry ones are the best." they migrate to the living room as he states that, cora laying down on his couch, rolling her eyes.
"you just don't have taste buds, clay."
he scoffs. "i so do."
she shakes her head, looking around his living room. on the table next to her was a different box of chocolates, making her immediately raise her eyebrows. "who the fuck else wanted to get you chocolate?"
he laughed. "george."
she sighed sadly. "i thought i was getting a sister in law for a second. i was so excited too, and then you had to say stupid george."
he sat down next to her, leaning back into the couch. "he's not stupid cora."
"that's what you think."
he snapped the hair tie on her wrist, making her wince. "when did you learn to do that? that shit stings," she said, rubbing her arm. "did cassidy teach you that?"
he nodded. "she did that to sam one time, it shut her up fast."
coras face dropped. "are you doing okay today?"
"yeah, im fine. don't worry about me, im doing better now."
cora wasn't sure she believed him, but she also wasn't sure it was the day to bring it up again.
"hey cora?" clay asked after a brief moment of silence.
her eyes met his. "hey clay?" she spoke questioningly.
"how would you feel if i added you to a discord server with all of my friends? it has people like george and nick in it, so i think you'll get along." he said, playing with his hands nervously.
"sure, that sounds fun."cora responded with no hesitation. she had never really met his friends, not even nick, his own roommate.
but there's no way they could be that bad, she thought. so screw it.
