It was around five o'clock and you were currently sitting on the end of Dwayne's bed reading, his legs resting on your lap. You flipped through the pages without a thought but the words. Then you hear the front door open and close making you slightly jump at the noise, going back to trying to focus on your book you don't even notice the two figures standing in the doorway.

"Dwayne, uncle Franks here." You push your book out from your face watching as Dwayne does the same thing, except a little less enthusiastically. He doesn't look thrilled.

Then Sheryl looks to you, somehow forgetting you'd be over today. She silently curses to herself looking to her left. She motions Frank to move into the room. He does, taking a seat on the other bed in the room.

Dwayne gets up from his laying position, legs falling from your lap, he pushes past his mom and out the door. You kind of just sit there not knowing what to do. Sheryl says something about dinner in the car and for Dwayne to get it. You look anywhere in the room but the man sitting Infront of you. An awkward silence ensues.

Frank was the first to break it. "I see you two are close." He says making you look at him. You think for a moment.

"You could say that." Was all you said before Dwayne came into he room motioning his hands signaling that it was time for dinner.

Frank looks at Dwayne confused, so you speak interpretating for him. "Dinner, it's ready." Frank looks to you and nods.

"Thank you." The three of you walk into the dining room taking your seats. Dwayne in-between you and Frank. It's silent, again. You shift in your seat folding your hands onto your lap Infront of you. After a deafening couple moments of awkward silence frank asks Dwayne, "got a girlfriend?" Dwayne shakes his head no. "Boyfriend?" The black haired teen just gives him a look as if to say 'what the fuck'.

Frank looks to you. "What about you?" You turn your head startled by the conversation being put on you.

You think over your words trying to think of the best way to word this. You weren't quite sure who you liked so this would be a hard question to answer without completely outing yourself. You also shake your head, "nope, no boyfriends or girlfriends?" The last part coming out as a question rather than a statement. You mentally slapped yourself for being so obvious turning back to looking down at your hands.

Frank slightly smiles at your response. "Well do you guys have any other friends?" He asks another question. Dwayne nods his head no along with you. "Really?" Frank let's put a breath of air.

Dwayne just picks up his notepad writing the simple words, 'i hate everyone' showing it to his uncle. Frank raises a brow shifting his gaze between you and Dwayne. "Even your friend over there." Dwayne then underlines everyone, emphasizing that he does infact hate everyone.

You just roll your eyes at this, scoffing. You knew he didn't truly hate everyone, he just said he did. Dwayne's uncle then looks back at you opening his mouth to ask you something.

"Dwayne's friend, I never got your name." You look up at him past Dwayne. Did you really never introduce yourself to your best friends uncle. Some kind of best friend you are.

"Oh, I'm y/n." You answer offering a small smile in return. He nods his head as Mr.Hoover walks in greeting frank and you.

"Frank, y/n, good to see you." You just smile and nod your head. You weren't the biggest fan of Richard but you've learned how to tolerate him after awhile.

Frank on the other hand just mutters, "Richard..." They shake hands Richard sits down before promptly getting up after a short moment of awkward silence between the four of you.
