The next morning, you spent a few hours in his arms, just holding each other. This is where you would say your goodbye and go your separate ways.

'You're going to have fun over there for sure'.

You smile up at him and Jackson rolled his eyes, 'well... I guess it'll be fun... Maybe I could send you some photos', the thought would be nice but... It wasn't a good idea. It was time for the two of you to move on.

'It's time for me to go'.

He touches your shoulder gently and you let him get dressed and you lead him out. You try your best to hold back your tears and Jackson sees it, 'hey', he touches your cheek, 'look, if it becomes too much... You can call me, I'll be a phone call away anyway'.

You know it's a bad idea but he was right, if it was going to be too much, you could call him.
You watch him leave and you bite your bottom lip so hard that you taste copper.
The door from the other end of the hallway opens and John steps out, he was going somewhere. Jackson meets him at the top of the stairs, 'nice knowing you, take care of (Y/N) for me', he waves John off before disappearing forever... Disappearing out of your life.

'Hey'.

John approaches you slowly when he notices you starting to cry, 'what happened? Did he hurt you?' He's now standing before you, the look of concern is etched across his face but you chuckle though it sounds more like a sob, 'no, no he didn't, it's just... We've parted ways, that's all'.

'Parted ways?'

'He's going to France to live'.

'And you're not moving over there with him?'

You shake your head, the thought of France was nice but... You had a feeling that you didn't belong there.

'No, this was... This was our last time together'.

John was silent for a few moments before sighing, 'I'm sorry to hear that, maybe some time when you feel up for it, we can do something, just to get your mind off of everything'.
You smile up at him, it would be nice.

'Yeah sure, I'll let you know- I just need to rest'.

'Sure! Yeah sure no worries, get a good rest, there's no hurry or anything'.

'You going somewhere?'

John shrugged, 'ah just have to run some errands, I'll be out most of the day', you lean back against the door frame, 'nice... Well I won't keep you waiting, I'll talk to you later'.

'Talk later'.

You step back into your apartment and lock the door, pressing your back against the polished wood. Your ex-fiance was gone for good this time. He wasn't going to "drop by" anymore, you knew that for sure. Later on in life he'll find a beautiful woman and hopefully he doesn't fuck up that relationship like he did with you.

'I'm gonna miss you Jackson'.

You say out loud before heading back to bed.
