"And we are here!" Rosie exclaimed.
The Front gates of the majestic castle were extremely crowded by a massive number of creatures - werewolves, vampires, seelies, and merfolk all were invited.
As we sat among the bushes I stared at the girls dressed in exquisitely lavishing gowns, similar to mine. I carefully examined each of their moves. How their smiles seemed as if they were sewn to their faces, how the giddiness and excitement of finding their mates were clear on their faces, how they walked up the stairs confidently as if they had come out straight from a fairytale.

'Five minutes and that's going to be us there' I spoke to my wolf Aurora, who for some reason had been quite restless since we settled in our hiding spots. She just grunted 'so don't make any mistakes, we have to act like them, smile like them, no one should suspect anything' I continued
'You mean like this?' She snarled back, taking control of my body and making me smile like a mad person. I  shook my head and scowled taking the control back only to realize that Rosie was looking at me weirdly.

'You fine?' She asked looking a little disturbed.

'Ya,' I snapped as usual 'You?'

'No' She admitted 'Ariel (her wolf) is acting strange, she's getting too...restless?' She sounded a little confused herself.

'Same, maybe just cause we're too close to too many supernaturals? Brian what about you?'

'Huh? What?' Was the answer we received from our partner who had been too busy ogling the girls as they climbed up the stairs.

I shook my head at his behaviour and muttered 'nothing' as Rosie smiled knowingly at him 'Too busy trying to find your mate?" She teased him.

"Yes Actually, I know she's close but I just can't see her," he said in a low voice, his eyes straining through the massive crowd as I choked on air and Rosie's jaw dropped, totally not expecting that answer.

I blinked twice "are you SURE?" I said emphasizing the word sure.

'Ya' he confirmed confidently while his eyes stayed on the crowd "That's reason Rair (his wolf) is so restless, he just can't stop thinking how amazing our mate is going to be" he said honestly, changing his position a little and looking down, trying to hide the slight smile that formed on his face.

I shook my head trying to avoid my wolf's weird behaviour and friend's continuous chattering, my wolf had also started acting strange that also may be because-
Nope, that can't be true, I thought as I give my head a violent shake.

'Maybe it is true, you just don't want to admit it, Kathy, I have a feeling about something is going to happen in there, maybe it's cause our mate's there? We need to go closer to find ou-' and I shut the link not wanting to hear any more of my wolf's stupid ranting.

What was gonna happen was that we are gonna kill the stupid princess and leave, nothing else. No mate, nothing, I had come too far to be brought back by my stupid mate, if I had one. Too lost in thought I hadn't realized that Rosie was waving her hand in front of my face
"Hello, Kathy you in there? Or have been taken over some eidolon?"

I scowled at her as she smiled back "Yup she's back" she said as Brian nodded "As I was, I should get in place'" he said getting up but I held him back by grabbing his wrist.

"If, IF you find your mate in there, tell us first but don't make a move towards her, she shouldn't know who you are until all of us are out of any possible danger, understand? And that's an order" I said as he nodded 'Duty first' he said in a monotone voice and quickly put on his mask and left in a hurry and I knew for him that was a lie.

"That was a little harsh you know' Rosie voiced her thoughts. 'You're telling him to put everything before his mate, as if she means nothing-" "She does mean nothing-" I cut her off as she shook her head "not to him, to him she would mean everything'" she said in a soft voice. I ignored her as I readjusted everything,  making sure everything, mostly if
all of my daggers were in place.

"The same words apply to you, I know you're also hopeful you'll find your mate there, but focus on the mission," I said, my voice emotionless as she sighed, 'Who doesn't?' She muttered

"I don't," I said as I begin to get up only to be pulled back down by my wrists "But what would you do if you Do if you meet him?" She said incredulously.

"Excuse me?"

"Just answer my question"

'"I would act as if he meant nothing to me, cause he does mean nothing" I deadpanned and got up, putting on my masquerade mask and cover, I made my way towards the majestic castle doors hoping for the best, too not find my mate.
