Ghost was never the out going or extroverted type. Considering he's a total mute, he has trouble communicating in ways that his peers would understand, so why even try. That was how he thought anyway. It was, until he met someone. Walking to his local coffee shop, he can already smell the creamer and coffee grains. He opened the door, trying not to draw any attention which was dumb, considering the loud bell that alerted everyone of his entering. Like he usually would, he begins to walk up to the counter...when he finally stopped. He saw something. He saw someone. Someone...very...intriguing. His name was Unknown yet ghost felt like he already knew everything about him...he had pale skin matched with white greyish hair...he looked ..beautiful. Of course ghost couldn't tell him that, nor would he want too if he could, so he just smiled and waved at the smaller one. And once the smaller one waved back, it was certain. Ghost needed to befriend this stranger. Normally, befriending random people wasn't his thing, to be fair neither was attempting normal human interaction in general, however this felt different. The connection they had was almost instant. As if they'd known each other for years all from a simple glance. The boy walked up to ghost, shaking slightly, but smiling. "Hi...!" He said, avoiding eye contact. Now ghost could try multiple things with this. He could look in his bag, hopefully finding a conveniently placed pen or marker and paper, he could play charades until the boy finally guessed he was a freak, or he could just smile and make things awkward. He decided embarrassing himself wasn't the best first impression so he reached into his bag and looked for a pen and paper. Once he found what he needed, he zipped his bag up and sat down at the nearest table, motioning for the other to follow. He did. Ghost looked up for a moment, and then looked down at the paper in front of him, thinking of what to write as he started writing it. "Hi." It was simple, but it got the job done. The stranger looked confused for a second, but almost immediately caught on. "You're mute, aren't you?" He said, giving him.."the look". The look was the way someone looked at you when....well when you find out someone lost their dog or family member, or in his case, when you're just pathetic. Ghost nods, used to being seen as less then for his disability. "That's totally cool, sorry for not knowing." The stranger said, perking up slightly. "Cool", was never a word someone's described it as before. Strange. He picked up his pen yet again and began writing. "I'm ghost, by the way". Again, simple, but it did what was intended. The other smiles and nods. "Atticus!" He said, almost too cheerfully. Atticus. I like that.

Maybe communicating wasn't so bad after all.
