Kile:

I'm so beat... I had a nightmare where Jaron was kidnapped and abused... Shit... I hope it stays only like that in the dream.

I still can't believe that he disappeared... Every five minutes I look at my cell phone, if not yet a message from him appears... but nothing. Ivana is also pretty upset about the fact that Jaron disappeared.

I have no appetite either... Can I really do nothing?!

Suddenly the doorbell rings. My Mum is on the way to the front door and opens it.

Takemichi:

"Ok, let me do the talking first okay?" I said and Chifuyu and Baji nodded.

I now ring the doorbell and wait until someone opens. I hear footsteps coming closer and the front door now opens. Hinata has opened it.

"Takemichi? Chifuyu? Baji? What are you guys doing here?" she asks and looks at us confusedly. "Hey Hinata. Is Kile here right now?"

"Kile? Yeah, what do you need him for?"

"I need to ask him something. Jaron has disappeared and hasn't come home since yesterday... I am very worried about him and Kile might possibly know something else..." Hinata's eyes widen and she looks at me in shock.

"Omg... Takemichi, that is terrible! I'll go get him right now. Please come inside."

"Thanks Hinata."

We go into the apartment and sit down in the living room. "KILE?! COME DOWN NOW! TAKEMICHI IS HERE WITH HIS FRIENDS AND WANTS TO TALK TO YOU!" Hinata shouted, which scared me for a moment. She can get pretty loud.

Kile came cautiously into the living room. He looks pretty beat up... You can clearly see his rings under his eyes.

"Hello..." he says softly.

"Hey... Kile. I'm sorry to bother you, but I have a few questions for you.... It's about Jaron."

Kile now sits down on the couch and looks at the floor. "It's my fault...if I had been with him, he wouldn't have disappeared now..." He says in a slightly shaky voice.

"No... that's not true Kile. It's not your fault. No one knew that something like this would happen.... But we are now doing everything we can to find him again!" Kile now lifts his head and looks at me.

"Kile, you were probably the last one of us who saw Jaron. You always go home together after school. I need to know from what moment he was alone."

"Uhm... Well, it was probably at the one crossroads where we always split up, where the giant cherry tree is. There's a giant field nearby, too."

"Giant field?" I asked. "Yes, it's more accurately a giant meadow field."

"I see. And Jaron always goes through there?"

"Well, as far as I know, he mostly just walks on the little road next door. The meadow is, in fact private property." I nod and think.

"Did he say anything that doesn't look like him?" asks Chifuyu now.

"N-not that I know of... I just know that his cell phone battery was dead and he wanted to charge it as soon as possible at home. Please... if there's anything I can do to help, just tell me! I want to save Jaron too. I just don't know how..." says Kile.

I look at him and smile slightly. "You are a good youngster Kile. I know how much you miss Jaron, but it's best, if you leave the search to us adults. I can't risk anything happening to you as well. I say to him.

He looks at me disappointed.

"I have to go make a quick phone call." The others in the room nodded and I walk out of the living room.

Mikey:

I'm just in our neighborhood on my way to ask about Jaron. "Hey guys? This is my son Jaron Sano. He didn't come home, have you guys seen him?" I ask a group of boys and show them the picture of Jaron.

"No, I haven't seen anyone," says one of them and smiles wryly.

"No?" I ask.  "Sorry."

"Okay." I keep walking and asking other people.

"Here, this is my son. He didn't come home, can you take a look at this?" I ask a couple who skillfully ignores me and walks past me. Wow, thanks.

"Have you seen this boy? Look at least at the picture!" Okay, I give up hope. The people here... are useless.

Suddenly my cell phone vibrates. Takemitchy is calling. "Hey babe. Find out anything?" I ask.

"Mikey? Where are you right now?"

"Somewhere in the neighborhood, why?"

"Do you know that one intersection with the Cherry tree and where there's a big meadow field nearby?"

"Cherry tree? Meadow field? Hmm... Yeah, I think so."

"Good, can you go there and see if you can find anything? Kile said that Jaron always goes there after school, so not directly through the field but usually on the little street next door."

"I see, and what makes you think that he was in the field?"

"Well, think about it! First, Jaron wanted to get home quickly to charge his cell phone, because he was out of battery. Second, it happened to be raining yesterday in the afternoon and Jaron wanted to avoid getting wet, so he walked through the field, which is also a shortcut home to us."

"Sounds logical. But if it's a shortcut, why doesn't he always go through it?"

"Kile said that the field is private property and that's why he didn't want to get caught, if he went through there every time," Takemitchy says.

"All right. I'll go check it out."

"Thanks! I'll follow up with Chifuyu and Baji."

"Chifuyu and Baji are with you right now?"

"Oh that's right, I just happened to run into them at the restaurant where we used to have our dates.... By the way, they're also helping us with the search."

"Oh well... See you later then." I hang up and think for a moment. What can happen in a sprawling field of meadows?

But if Takemitchy thinks that there is something, then it can't hurt to look there.
