SO KOTETSU FORCED YOU AND TANJIRO TO TRAIN WITH THAT DOLL FOR DAYS ON END.
you sigh as tanjiro gets thrown back by the doll as well, he was lucky the katanas were replaced with wooden ones.
"you're too slow, tanjiro! that's no good at all! you'd be dead if the doll wasn't using practice swords! get it together! this is day five! tomorrow i'll give the doll real weapons!"
you both walk over, kotetstu hits his back with his fist, "no food again today!"
you just gently pat his back, you had already 'defeated' the doll. you had gotten a good strike to its neck, which made it go lopsided but seemed to not want to move so much. maybe something was in there? but you begrudgingly welded it back together using your flames while no one was watching. but you still like to train with it, it certainly helps with your dodging and physical strength.
"hang in there! don't lose! stand up! cmon, stand up! please, stand up! cmon!" kotetsu shouts.
"wait a second!"
"stand up!"
"i'm gonna die!"
tanjiro wasn't as close to defeating the doll as you had been, he was having the same struggles every day. and it didn't help hen kotestu wouldn't give him food or water if he couldn't do it. you don't think he knows the bodily limits.
but tanjiro was blessed when the rain started to bucket down, he cheers, opening his mouth and facing it to the sky.
tanjiro looked pale and weak, you were sure kotetsu was going to kill him. so once kotetsu had gone to grab something because tanjiro had passed out, you gave him some water, pouring it down his throat.
he woke up gurgling and coughing, maybe you shouldn't have given it to him while he was laying down. you weren't so sure of the bodily limits yourself.
tanjiro opens his eyes, turning bright red. you glance around, shoving the bottle in his hand, "quick. drink some"
he calms his face, nodding slightly and taking the biggest gulp of water you had ever seen. hearing footsteps drawing near, you take the bottle from tanjiros hands and step away.
kotetsu walks back in, "okay! now you're trying again!"
tanjiro sighs, though feeling just a bit more refreshed.
