Chapter Two.

"Hi Mia, how are you feeling?" Someone said. I awoke at the sudden footsteps and words. "Oh, hi Kate. I didn't expect to see you here today." I said. "I texted you!" She replied. I rolled my eyes. "I don't really text. You know that! You should've called me!" I said. "Whatever." She said. "Hey, remember Moss?" She asked. "How could I forget? It was the best time of my life." I said. "I wanna relive every moment!" She said. "Me too. Remember when everything was perfect?" I asked her. She nodded her head and looked down at her shoes. The silence was nice but it also scared me. "Everyone misses you a lot at school. They are sorry for you." Kate said. "I don't want anybody feeling sorry for me!" I shouted. Kate's face looked scared. "Sorry, I didn't mean to yell like that." I said. "It's okay. Even Zach misses you!" She said. "What?! No way!" I replied. "Yes way! Is it okay if everyone comes over at 3?" She asked while looking at her phone. "Um, sure." I said. "Even Zach?" She asked. "One how the hell do you have his number. Two how the hell did you think I would say yes?" I asked. "I said yes for you." She smirked. Damn she's good. "Shit, people can't see me like this!" I said. "Go get in the shower and put on some random clothes." She said. "Okay." I said. Kate was trying to take her phone case off for no apparent reason. It wouldn't budge. "It's stuck!" She said. "That's what she said." I shouted. She gave me a glair. "Come over here and help me get it off!" She yelled. I got off the bed and stumbled to where she was sitting. I yanked it off in one try. "Your welcome." I said as I headed towards the bathroom. "It was with help from me!" She scoffed. "Whatever floats your boat." I said as I shut the door behind me. I turned on the water and stripped out of my Hospital gown thing. I got into the warm water and washed up quickly. I got out, turned the water off, and dried my body. Then brushed through my hair. I changed into a purple shirt that says Believe in white letters. I pulled on some dark wash skinny jeans and opened the door. Wearing a short-sleeve shirt was risky; people could easily see my gashes and bruises from when I was cutting, but I let it pass. Kate was gone so I sat down on the bed grabbing the remote and turning on the Tv. Old episodes of iCarly was on. Carly and Sam were doing Random Dancing. I laughed, those were the good-old-days.

I stopped as I heard familiar voices down the hall. "Guys, don't smother her. Act normal, like nothing happened. Treat her like you would if it was 6th grade all over again." Kate said. I obviously wasn't supposed to hear that; so I acted like I didn't. "Oh my god." They all said at once. It was them. They were there. Nobody was leaving. I started crying. "Y-you c-came back for m-me." I stuttered. "We would never leave you Mia." Madeline said. I was smothered in a giant group hug. "Woah, woah, nothing's changed here people. I still need my space." I said. They all laughed. I took time to examine each and every one of them. Joey, still short. Kylie, still amazayn. Silvia, still her funtastic self. Madeline, still smart. Carmen, still her lovely cussing self. And then I saw him. Those eyes, that hair, something I was never able to live without. Zach.

The time passed very quickly. Before we knew it, it was 10:00. "Visiting hour is now over." A random nurse said. We said our goodbyes and have hugs. "Y'all better text me!" I shouted as they were walking out the door. I was reassured by "Okay!" And "Promise!" I smiled and thought to myself. What a wonderful day! Luckily no one noticed my arms.

My thoughts were interrupted by the doctor. "Just here for a quick check-up." He said. He checked my arms, my stomach, my breathing, and my heart.

"Ouch!" I winced. He pressed my arm and stomach at the same time. "Sorry! I have one more question for you before I leave, what is your dying wish?"
