"What do you think you're doing!?" Kaoru yelled. It had been eight years since that promise in college. Not much had changed between the two.

"Working!" Kojiro yelled back. He was a chef at his own restaurant now. Kaoru walked in the doors glaring angrily at the muscled bound chef.

"You were supposed to pick me up!" He yelled. Kojiro smirked.

"And here I thought you were a big boy." He chided. "Can't you walk two blocks from home?"

"I wasn't home!" Kaoru spat. "Today was my test!" He yelped. Kojiro froze. He had messed up big time. Bigger than anything he had ever done before. He had forgotten about the test.

"Honey, I'm sorry. I..." Kojiro pleaded with his large red eyes.

"You better have a good reason for this!" He hissed.

"I, well I do, but it has to wait." Kojiro tried to soothe the other. Kaoru huffed. He found a seat near where Kojiro was cooking. He sat down. A moment later a glass of white wine was placed in front of him. Kaoru looked at it.

"Did you lose brain cells while I was gone?" He asked. Kojiro sighed.

"Whenever I'm not subjected to your screeching tones, it appears I do." He muttered. Something hit him on the back of the head. Kaoru's aim had always been good.

"Stop muttering and yell at me!" He wailed. Kojiro grinned with his back to his boyfriend. He had learned that if he didn't yell back, Kaoru became worried he didn't love him any more. This tactic he used sparingly. It did hurt the pink haired man, but if Kojiro played it right, he would have what he wanted.

With a heavy sigh, Kojiro turned to look back at the man sitting alone in his restaurant. "Sorry, just not feeling it today pinkie. Maybe you should add a bitch mode to Carla. She seems to be who you prefer to talk too." Kojiro said.

The night before he had awoken to find himself alone in the bed. When Kojiro went in search of his pink haired glasses wearing lover, he found the man slumped over the AI assistant. He had progressed Carla from just his skateboard to their smart house, to a bracelet he wore so that she was always with him.

Honestly the more he did with Carla, the less Kojiro felt he was even wanted around. Kaoru had taken to earing dinner and rushing off to his study to work on the machine. Kojiro hardly seen the gorgeous man in weeks. He ran his hand over his chest. He felt the slight bump. A sad smile touched his lips. Kaoru looked up at him.

Huge wet tears were filling up the golden eyes. Kojiro sighed. "What is it? You spend more time with her than me nowadays." He pointed out.

"Because, I'm working on something important." Kaoru muttered. Kojiro waved a dismissive hand.

"Yeah, our relationship just isn't that important to you any more. I get it." He walked away. Kaoru sniffled but didn't follow. That was a bit odd. Maybe he was giving up on Kojiro. The green haired chef watched the pink delight from he kitchen.

Kaoru hung his head. He toyed with he bracelet on his wrist as he sat sulking at the counter. The sight was breaking Kojiro's heart. Over the last eight years their life together had been wonderful. Reki was thrilled he won the outcome of when they had officially became an item. The group of friends ended up renting a house together.

They lived there for the remainder of college. Two weeks after graduation, Reki and Langa got married. The others bought the house and gave it to them as a wedding gift. Now, Reki owned his own business. He designed and built specialty skateboards for famous skaters all over the world. Langa was a mastermind at marketing. The couple worked so well together that the business prospered. They recently added to their family by adopting twin boys. This had been what sparked Kojiro to work harder on his plan.
