I assume it's safe to start with some cute Scolex-y fluff?

Alex rubs his hands together nervously. Scott will be coming home from some interview soon, and he wants to execute this surprise date perfectly. Scott deserves it.

Scott sighs once he steps inside the house. While the interviews went great, he feels exhausted from work. "Alex?" he calls.

Alex's face lights up as he sees his boyfriend enter the foyer. "Hey, babe." He gives him a quick kiss. "You hungry?"

"Hell yes," Scott groans, "What'd you make?" he asks, peering into the kitchen.

"Does spaghetti sound nice? I know it's a bit cliché, but I didn't have time to run to the grocery store."

Scott chuckles. "Honestly, you could have gone with pizza and I wouldn't have minded." he admits and leans on Alex.

Alex laughs softly. "Well that sure would have saved me some trouble. But no, I want tonight to be nice." He turns and heads back into the kitchen to get the plates ready, before placing them on the table and pouring out some nice wine.

"Wow," Scott grins in admiration as he looks at the nice setting. "You really did it today. What's the occasion?"

"Nothing specific. I just wanted to do something nice since it seems like you're always spoiling me. Now it's my turn." Alex motions for Scott to sit.

Scott makes a face when he sits down. "I don't always spoil you. I force you to do the dishes." he retorts playfully.

Alex just rolls his eyes and digs into the pasta. "So.. Do you approve? I made the sauce myself."

Scott takes a forkful then makes a slightly-disgusted face to play with Alex. "It's good," he chokes out.

"Don't make me stab you with this fork." Alex glares at Scott. "So, how was the interview?"

Scott laughs. "I'm kidding, the pasta's really good. Same with the interview, but I'm feeling tired." he shakes his head.

"Well after we eat how about we cuddle and take a short nap? This is only part one of our date night." Alex grins.

"Date night?" Scott asks. "You actually have a whole thing planned out? Seriously, is it our anniversary or...?"

Alex just shakes his head. "Don't act too surprised, Scott. And no it isn't our anniversary, I just wanted to do something special. Do I need an excuse to treat you well?"

Scott smiles and shakes his head. "No no. I'm sorry, you just caught me off-guard. What're your plans?" he asks while eating.

"Please don't kick me but...it's a surprise."

Scott rolls his eyes. "Fine, Mr. Drama Queen." he takes a sip of his wine.

"You know you love me." Alex winks as he finishes off his plate of spaghetti, the glass of wine following soon after.

He finishes eating as well and shrugs. "Guess we're ditching the nap. Take me to your date, then." Scott smirks.

Alex grins and takes Scott's dishes to the sink. "Ok, just go change into something a bit more casual and grab a jacket."

Scott looks down at his clothes stubbornly. "Too lazy," he comments, "I'll wear this instead."

Alex just puts his hand on Scott's back and begins leading him to the bedroom. "Scott, at least change into some shorts. Trust me."
