This morning I signed to a new modelling agency in hopes of having new opportunities and the freedom to explore stuff outside of the industry. My previous contract restricted me from working with certain companies and industries so I'm really hopeful for my future.

"I know that we might not say this often but we are so proud of your journey." My mother tells me as my father pours us each a glass of champagne. "You've felt down about not being in the same position as Selene but this journey is about you and we are so proud of everything that you have accomplished."

"Really?" I look at them with hopeful eyes and they both nod their heads before my father kisses mine.

"You've made us proud, Iris." He gives me that fatherly smile that makes me feel warm inside. "We couldn't be prouder parents and one thing that we have always admired about you is your decision to move on. Sometimes we stay in certain places because that's where our comfort lies but you know when it's time to move forward and that's admirable."

"I have my dreams and I can't be staying with a company that blocks me from doing what I want."

"What is it that you want?" My mom raises a brow at me and I don't respond for a moment because I don't really know. "You're still young so you have plenty of time to figure out where you want to go with yourself."

As we migrate towards the breakfast table in the kitchen, my father starts reheating the Thai Chicken that he prepared earlier. It's not long before the food is set down infront of us and my eyes practically roll back at the taste of homemade food.

"Ugh, I need to move back home." I spoon some rice before popping it in my mouth. "I've been living off of takeout food."

"I'll be sure to send you some food." My dad tells me and I smile up at him. Not many people know that my father originally started out his career in the culinary business and he spent decades perfecting his meals.
