“So I can’t come home?” her bottom lip quivered as she stood before the demon, Roan, and the angel, Marie. She called them mother and father; she was their creation, their holy demon, their corrupted angel…

“You have no home to go to,” the angel spoke gently with a natural soothing tone, but her words were just as harsh as a physical strike to the girl before her. “The Creator says he would not allow his gates to open, for you have a scorched and hollow soul.” Marie turned from the girl; she had delivered her message and so she began her return to the Kingdom of the Sky, a place which was now forbidding her daughter’s entrance. The girl turned her starry white eyes to face the demon; she pleaded silently with him; the heavens reflecting through her eyes looking up to his blackened emotionless ones.

“I have no home to offer onto you.” The demon looked the girl over. Her pale, ivory colored skin, pure white starry eyes, and halo were symbols of the Sky, but her red-tinted scythe-tipped tail, crimson colored hair, and her black colored clothing were symbolic of the Abyss Kingdom. He shook his head in disapproval, “The goodwill of your heart and the kindness embedded in your eyes make you unfit for the Destructor’s Kingdom.” She slowly fell upon her knees, but her gaze never faltered away from the demon.

“I-” the soft voice of the girl made both the angel and the demon turn to meet her gaze, “I did what they asked of me.” The girl’s gaze shifted between the two, “I did what they asked of me, and because I did…” She closed her eyes and both Marie and Roan sensed the heat of the fury she was building inside, “they deny me a home…they abandon me…” They angel turned and ascended to the white tufts of clouds above and the demon rose back to the stormy black clouds of the Destructor’s Kingdom; both leaving the girl just as alone as the Creator and Destructor had. That is where she stayed, a place between the two kingdoms, a place where she could see both of them, but never reach either. A place she deemed unfit for any creation that was not her own.
