Chapter Fourteen-Four Years Later

So, yeah. It's Gregory's sixteenth birthday, I'm a twenty-year-old, and Ray finally turned twenty-five. Let's just say that after the incident, Mr. Ted gave us enough money to last a few years and pay off the bills, all to keep our mouths shut about how the whole thing started. His pizzeria was shut down because of some health code violations and problems with the animatronics. When the news came out, all three of us started laughing.

Gregory, to celebrate the occasion, wanted to go visit the Mega Pizzaplex, where we met. I teach him some pretty important life skills, mainly coding and robotics, and he works as a mechanic for an animatronic repair shop I opened. It's just as fun as hacking, but I don't have to steal, I get paid. With hard-fucking-earned money. Not stolen. Earned.

What about Ray? He achieved his dream of becoming a babysitter for twelve kids at a local daycare. Not the Pizzaplex one, that's Sun's and Moon's job, the one Mom and Dad used to drop us off at back when I was three and Ray was nine. He's actually doing a better job than the one he replaced, the same teacher who was a babysitter us until I was ten. He said that she does visit to help take care of the kids.

We arrive at the Pizzaplex in the old van Ray refuses to sell. There're too many memories to give up. I bet he's still traumatized from seeing my burned body and me somehow still being alive while almost being crushed by a one ton animatronic. I wonder how Moon's doing; I haven't seen him in three years. I'd been too busy with the shop and teaching Gregory. I always used to expect a Fazbear Enterprise employee rolling one of the animatronics in and asking me and Gregory to fix them. Only the minor companies, though, came in with nightmarish animatronics.

We walk in the Entrance and set up guest accounts. Even the blonde security guard was replaced, only by a brunette female with burning brown eyes. It's the second birthday of the mall's rebirth. The largest event in town. I'd rather hang out with Moon than being in a crowd of people dancing to the new band's music. I notice how Gregory looks at the Main Stage glumly, and I ask him if he wants to get a Photo Pass. It does cheer him up a bit, childlike hope in his eyes. He's hoping his Fazbear is here instead of some other of the same model.

I buy him a Photo Pass and a Daycare Pass for myself. They allow all ages in there, even after the kidnappings from the first building. They just brushed it under the mat and lets everyone generically human in. We split up, Ray supervising Gregory and me on my own. I walk up to the new Daycare sign, it's just like the old one but shinier. I walk in and submit the pass. The door opens and I walk in. Everything's just like it was only four and a half years ago, same colors and everything. It's just that the tower where Sun would jump off of is darker.

I walk around and into the castle gates that lead into the actual Daycare. I can see adults giving me sneers and confused looks as I walk down the stairs. I can see Sun playing with the kids, even from the gate. I smile at him and walk around until he spots me. He charges at me and gives me a squeeze of a hug.

"(Y/N)! (Y/N)! (Y/N)! How are you?! Moon was just talking about you!" he exclaims, his white eyes gleaming with joy. "He always told he missed you!"

"Oh, really?" I ask, giggling a little at his infinite happiness.

"It's almost Naptime! Maybe you can talk to him!" he laughs, soon returning to the kids. I sit on a small bench, the structures are too small for me now.

"Maybe," I mumble, staring at the colorful floor.

This used to be a safe place, back when I was sixteen. It was their home as well. They were frightened of me but look at us now. Moon and I are friends, maybe not the closest, but still friends. Maybe life-long, if I came here every week.

Soon enough, the Daycare goes quiet, and the lights are off. I can hear jingling, and my mind is already flooded with memories. I tiptoe to the source, seeing Moon comfort a kid and help him sleep. I smile at the two, and, as soon the boy is asleep, Moon turns to face me. I can see the happiness in his red eyes.

I run up and hug him, refusing to let go. A cold hand ruffles my hair, and I smile. We sit up against the wall, and I slowly fall asleep next to him.

"Sweet dreams, night owl."
