Chapter 12: Late Night Conversation

Theen's POV:

When I woke up that night, I decided to take a look at the view outside. The whole resort looks so wonderful and peaceful.

I love watching the waves at the ocean, it gives me a sense of freedom and peace of mind.

As I was getting ready to go outside and have a walk outside, suddenly I heard someone humming a song.

"Wait--- it's my favorite song! But who's singing it though? Why does it sound so familiar?"- I whispered to myself as I get nearer to the owner of the voice.

I then eavesdrop to the one who's singing the song.

It really sound familiar. I mean, the owner of the voice

I began walking towards the owner of the voice to better hear him.

Coz I'm afraid that living could get any better

"June?"- I was surprised to hear him singing again. It's been a year, since I last heard him singing a song. Still, he has the best voice that makes my heart calm down. I didn't know that my voice was loud enough for him to notice my existence and suddenly stop humming the song. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interfere... Umm. You've got a nice voice."

"Why are you--- I mean, what are you doing here outside?"-he asked after pretending as if, he didn't just sang a song now.

"Ohh. Yeah. I was going to see the waves outside. You? I didn't know that you're home already."

"Well. I think it's better to look and tour around at day light. So I decided to come home early."

Silence...

"Ummm. About your son---"

"Forget about it. I don't sing anymore."-he replied shortly sounding kinda mad.

I closed my lips right after that.

"You said you're going to look for the waves outside, isn't it?"

I just nodded my head as a reply.

"Let's go then. I think, it's not a bad idea to watch the waves outside. Let's go~"

"A-are you sure you wanna come---?"- I asked curiously.

"Of course."- he replied back and begun walking away from me.

I watched his back as it gets further away from me.

We're now walking on the seashore side by side. But as I watched him walking away from me, without even bothering to look back on me, suddenly it sting my heart.

If I was a little bit earlier.

If I admitted my feelings for you back then... Will you fall for me too?

Will you see me as somebody else worthy of your love?

Will I have some place in your heart too?

Will you look back for me, if I was earlier than Kenneth in your life?

Without knowing it, my eyes began to tear up.
