The room was suddenly freezing cold and everyone was losing their hope and confidence as if it was being drained away. They all wanted to turn back but then Endian snapped back into focus.

"Uh" Endian began, his voice shaking slightly. "I've read about a creature that can do this, drain the energy from people" he paused to think about what the name of the creature was. "We need to leave now, this cave is home to a..."

There was a huge gust of cool, crisp wind and the other two snapped to their senses too. A huge female ghost like figure, dressed in a whitish grey dress with holes that looked like they were made by fire appeared. Her face a scary yet beautiful sight to behold. A fast whirlwind spun around her creating a small suction.

" Yep, this is definitely the home of " he calmly said"AN AIR WRAITH, RUN!!!!!!" He yelled at the top of his lungs. The wraith let out an unnatural screech and flew towards them at full speed. They turned around and started to run back down the passage. Cloud lead the run, with Ariana close behind and Endian bringing up the rear almost getting caught by the wraith. Suddenly Ariana turned back around and stopped running.

"What are you doing"Cloud yelled

Ariana held the sword aloft and it suddenly lit on fire. It wasn't just an old artifact, it was an old enchanted sword given the power of fire. Cloud's jaw had dropped, his father was the only wizard that could enchant items meaning this sword belonged to a great knight. It must be an artifact of the Great War he thought to himself. The frightening wraith tried to get close to the flames but couldn't. Ariana started slowly walking backwards and the other two did the same. They were now at mouth of the tunnel they had originally came through. They stepped into the cold, dirt passage. That still smelt of damp soil.

Almost as if there was a forcefield. The wraith suddenly backed off and flew in the other direction. They all sighed with relief and wiped the sticky sweat off their foreheads.

"Now that was a close one" Endian said relieved that he didn't have to be scared anymore.

"Cloud" Ariana asked softly "why do you think my sword lit on fire?"

Cloud's eyes were wide open and with a huge smile he ecstatically replied " we must have found an enchanted sword, one of the few ever made!"

Endian sighed"sorry to rain on the party, but wraiths like those ones can only be summoned by a dark sorcerer" Cloud's grin flipped into a frown

"What did you battle in the Great Hall 4 days ago" Endian questioned Cloud.

"I faced a Malmori" Cloud replied "One of Morgath's elite warriors and how are they alive without him you may ask" he gulped before finishing "they are because Morgath is back himself."

"What"Ariana exclaimed while Endian started to hyperventilate. Cloud really hoped that the rest of the kingdom would take the news better than Endian had. He started to explain the conversation he had had with his dad a few days ago.

"So let me get this straight your dad is the greatest wizard of all time and you are going to have to fight Morgath in order to save the world" Ariana said in one huge breath.

Cloud nodded in agreement. He hoped the rest of the kingdom reacted as well as his friends had to the fact that his father was Racton.

But there was still one problem they were trapped in a passage with a locked door. They went back through the narrow passage and ended back in the small room where they had started in.

The three scanned the room for anything that might unlock the door.

The room was dug into the wall and was roughly a dome. The walls were made of dirt with stones scattered in it. A small boulder stood in the center covered in dust. The flagstones on the floor had a strange pattern and Endian suggested they step on each design to trigger the door to open. Cloud saw right through the distraction and walked over to the boulder.

"What are you doing Cloud" Endian asked as Cloud knocked on the rock. "I knew it, the rock is hollow" Cloud thought. Cloud knelt on the ground and felt for a place he could get a good grip. After almost making a complete circle he found what he was looking for. He pried the rock off the ground revealing a wooden lever. He grabbed it with his right hand and pulled it. The stone slab slid open and they ran out into the fresher air of the lower level of the castle. The slab then proceeded to close.

As the friends snuck out of the passage and into the safety of the halls they heard echoing footsteps coming their way.
