"You finally took a shower? And you washed your hair?! You even smell nice?! And what's that I see.. wh- CELIA ARE YOU GOING BACK TO SCHOOL!" Estella gaped as I entered the kitchen.
"Why are you acting like you didn't watch our mom drag me out of bed and scrub me half to death." I deadpanned and she just continued to sit there in surprise. "Also a massive hint might be the fact I'm wearing uniform?"
"I can't believe it worked."
"I'm not a recluse Stella, I know how to get out of bed." I whacked her on the head as I passed by where she sat at the breakfast table.
She groaned, "I'm just shocked your not still mourning."
I halted my reach for a bowl and gave her a confused expression, "mourning what?"
"YOUR DEAD RELATIONSHIP!" A teethy grin spread across her face as she tried to stop herself from laughing.
I flipped her off and continued to make my very delicious bowl of cereal. "You have to be the most mature twenty-year-old I've met. Wow Stella your maturity is astonishing." I remarked sarcastically.
"What? I saw an opportunity and took it... just like Calen-"
I stepped on her foot viciously as I walked past her again which made her yelp and incapable of finishing her sentence. Oh no... "I don't want to go to school." I whined as I took my seat at the table.
Stella gave me a blank look, "suck it up fatty."
"Wow I'm so glad I have a great older sister who gives the best pep talks." I retorted in a monotone voice and a straight face.
"Okay fine." She let out a deep sigh and reluctantly spoke, "What's the matter!"
I pouted, "I already know I'm going to see Callen, but I'm also going to have to see the rest of the Aces and he probably told them everything!"
"Great! Now who are these ace people!"
"How many time do I have to tell you," I breathed loudly, "I swear to God you better listen this time."
Stella held up her hands in defence, "I will gosh"
"I already told you. So there's Andrew, Callen, Elliot and Steven. They're the Aces-"
"And?"
"Shut up and let me explain! They've been friends since elementary, richest, smartest and hottest guys in our school-"
"And you expect me to believe you dated one of them?"
I let my eyes roll themselves, "Believe it or not Stells but I'm actually quite the looker." I fluttered my eyes at her seductively which made her cringe.
"Celia. Don't ever do that again."
"Right, anyways they have a LOT of influence over our school like way too much for students to have and they're called the aces because you put they're names together and voila it spells Aces." I rambled on nervously, even thinking about them made me feel anxious and uncomfortable.
"Okay so big deal you dated some popular guy, what are they going to do now? It's not like you were the one who ended the relationship anyways" Stella shrugged and her blunt words made my heart pang.
"Ouch? Stella maybe you don't understand because you went to a public school but; these rich kids are bloody insane." There was no point explaining to Stella, it was futile.
"You are one of those rich kids... Celia babe you wear a £35000 watch to school everyday." I rolled my eyes and continued to eat my cereal.
When Stella was my age she had gone to a public school as an act of rebellion, but 'lucky' for me our parents forced me to go to a prestigious private school nearby and now I was stuck playing a battle for social survival everyday.
The Aces ruled Northridge and in a week I had gone from being top of the food chain and forced to hang out with them everyday to being labelled 'Callen's ex girl'. I had deleted all my social media for a week but now I was totally unprepared for any rumours that had been made up and spread around.
Even if I hung out with the Aces mostly because of Callen I still hung out with them and I had grown close to them over the year and even learned some of their deepest secrets and I knew for i fact that they wouldn't tolerate me disappearing and ghosting them for a week and even ignoring them everytime they showed up at my house and let me not even get started on the amount of messages that must have piled up.
Not only from the Aces though, my friends must have been dying to hear what happened aswell. I say friends but I mean 'friends'. I hang out with the girl equivalent of the Aces apart from the fact that we all secretly hate each other, aren't geniuses and our only common personality trait is - rich.
Even though I rarely hung out with them because of Callen always swooping me away. They took me under their wing, they were all only using each other to get more popular but that was fine by me. Well it used to be fine, before now. Now... I would have to actually interact with them with no blonde man in shining armour to whisk me away.
I'm trying not to think about the breakup but I know it's all that's going to be talked about today. But if anyone says a slightly mean remark I'm scared I'll break down.
"Celia!" Stella snapped her fingers in front of my face making me jump in fright. "Mom's been calling you for the past 5 minutes, she's waiting outside in the car."
I stared at Stella in desperation though I'm not sure if she missed it or just completely ignored it as she looked back down at her phone unbothered. I put my bowl in the sink and gave myself a final look in the large, antigue mirror.
My uniform was neat and I didn't have a hair out of place. I wore a short, black, pleated skirt with tights and a bright white shirt. My dark blue tie hung down and it contrasted with the green of my eyes. My blazer had a navy outline and the school crest was daubed on the front. I kept my hair in a usual high ponytail which ran down to my waist. I accessorised with a watch and a simple dark blue cartier bracelet set and some rings and simple earring studs.
Can I please just blend in today?
