𝐦𝐲 𝐠𝐨𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐬 - 𝐬.𝐚𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐰𝐚

001 - 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐝

- 𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 , 𝐣𝐮𝐥𝐲 17𝐭𝐡 , 8:35𝐚𝐦

your alarm wakes you up early in the morning , making you groggily groan. you stretched your legs out , causing them to tremor .

after about 10 minutes of laying in bed , staring at the ceiling , and contemplating going back to sleep , you finally get up start your day.

you took a shower, got dressed , and made a bowl of f/c (favorite cereal) for breakfast . you brought over your laptop and sat on the barstool at your kitchen counter , scrolling through emails .

you'd recently applied to be a teacher at AU high school , not too confident you'd get hired for a job at such a .. prestigious and high class school. your only reasons were that :

1. you didn't have much self esteem

2. you hadn't done hero work in a while due to your mental state

3. you're black . you didn't know if there were some racist pricks who got to decide whether you got hired or not .

when you scrolled down a little , you saw an email that showed your UA application results . you were a little excited on the inside , but you tried not to get your hopes up too high just in case things took a left turn .

when you opened the email it read :

𝘄𝗲'𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗽𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗨 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 .

𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗹𝘆 , 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 1𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 . 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 , 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼 𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 .

𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 , 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 , 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 1𝘀𝘁 . 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 .

𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂 , 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝘂 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 , 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 .

at first , you felt a churn in your stomach and a tingling feeling in your eyes . you were about to call your brother , kameron , or your best friend , samaria , to vent . as you kept reading , you sobered up . a slight smile tugged at your lips .

you were ready , but also nervous to start a new path at AU Highschool . you couldn't stop wondering who you'd be working with , since you were going to be the assistant . you hoped they weren't some nasty, nagging bitch . you didn't have the time or patience for it .
