Today is Tom's Birthday. I decided to organize a surprise party for him.

Laura - Happy Birthday Bro!

Dove - Happy Birthday Tom!

I give him his presents.

Tom - Oh shoot, you got me the PS5. I love you baby" He says, hugging me. But I'm not done.

Laura - That's not all she got you. She's letting you get whatever you want while you and I shop today.

Tom - Why can't you come with me?

Sharni - I told you I have to use my spa coupon before it expires. Dove has one too.

Tom - Fine...

I kiss him and off they go.

Laura's gonna regret saying yes to this. The budget is 2,500.

They go and Dove and I go shopping to get snacks, balloons, streamers, confetti cannons (for singing happy birthday at the cake), "19" aluminum balloons, balloon arch, a photo booth and we are ordering pizza from the pizza shop. Chips, chicken nuggets and nachos from our fish and chips shop.

We invited his friends and family.

Laura then text's that they are on their way. We have the lights off. The door opens and Tom turns the lights on.

Everyone - SURPRISE!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

He's in shock. Laura puts the bags down and Tom hugs everyone.

Tom got his favorite snacks, toys, movies, games, party supplies (so he can mess the house later just to annoy me. He just has to wait), things for me (so sweet) and he got some clothes because why the fuck not.

I see Laura and Ella are super tense. I walk to Laura

Sharni - Talk to your mother.

Laura - Not happening.

Sharni - Fine.

I then walk to Ella.

Sharni - Talk to your daughter.

Ella - What will I get out of it?

Sharni - Your daughter back. If you just accept her for who she is.

Ella - Not happening.

Sharni - Why are you so homophobic?

Ella - Because... I don't know.

Sharni - See, you don't even know why you are homophobic. Now talk to her. She misses you.

She looks down and walks to Laura but Laura walks off.

Sharni - I'll talk to her.

I walk to Laura.

Sharni - She was gonna accept you, but no you had to walk off on her. Now fucking talk to her and introduce Dove to her. And tell her the good news.

She rolls her eyes and walks to Ella with Dove.

I stay close with Tom in my arms.

Ella - Before you say anything. I want to say I'm sorry. I shouldn't have kicked you out. Last year was hard.

Laura - It was 5 years without him.

Ella - I know. And it was when you needed me most. I'm sorry.

Laura runs hugging her bursting into tears. They kneel on the ground hugging still.

Ella - I never wanted to hurt you. I'm sorry that I did.

They then get up and clean themselves off.

Laura - Mom. Meet Dove. My girlfriend.

Ella - Nice to meet you hun.

Dove - Nice to meet you too.

Laura - We have some exciting news... We are expecting.

Ella - What? How?

Laura - IVF.

Ella - Oh My God. I'm gonna be a grandmother?

Laura - Yeah...

They all hug.

Ella - Wait... Who's carrying?

Laura - We both are. 1 each.

Ella - OH MY GOSH!!!

They then sit and catch up.

It's 8 pm already. Holy shit time flew. We then do cake. We're all singing and at every hoo-ray a confetti cannon was shot. Tom grabbed his silly string and sprayed the crowd. Everyone screams. I then grabbed a homemade cake and smashed it on his face. Lucky Laura was recording for me.
