It's been a couple weeks and Tom texts me.

Tom - Hey

Sharni - What's up?

Tom - Laura and I are solving our shit finally. She told me the reason why she was so mad at me.

Sharni - Why?

Tom - She has a crush on me...

Sharni - Ew, What, No!

Tom - I was joking. She didn't trust me because of my personality.

Sharni - Which is?

Tom - Wow, felt that.

Sharni - Well as Laura says, you have multiple. Which one was she talking about?

Tom - The "Football Team" The "Man Whore" personalities.

Sharni - You did come across as a dick when I met you.

Tom - I know, but we also have to remember I had to leave all my friends in England to come here for my dad and his new wife.

Sharni - I get that. I really do. I bet you had so many friends and had a girlfriend, but the only male figure in Laura's life was her father. When she lost him, she lost herself.

Tom - I didn't have a girlfriend. I was a nerd in my old school. I thought since no one knows me here I'll try sports and shit.

Sharni - A nerd? I find that hard to believe.

We text a little more than he facetimes me. OH FUCK, OH FUCK, OH FUCK. I didn't do my hair... I look like a zombie that died again. I put a bit of concealer on and put my hair in a messy bun.

I answer the phone and he is still in bed, shirtless with bed head and a raspy voice... How the fuck. We've been up for hours, texting, how the fuck is his voice raspy like he just woke up.

Tom - I couldn't be bothered texting anymore. I wanted to hear you talk. I find it weird texting people. I personally like hearing voices.

Sharni - Are you sure it's that...

Tom - And you have a cute face, I guess.

Sharni - YOU GUESS?!

Tom - What?!

Sharni - Rude...

Tom - Sorry there hun. But you are cute, I'm not going to lie.

Sharni - So you think I'm cute?

Tom - Totally. One of the reasons I couldn't look at you was because I didn't want to look at you and think, I'm in love with someone I barely know. You know?

Sharni - Oh, so you were falling for me...

Tom - Oh my... I just exposed myself.

Sharni - Yes, yes you did.

Tom - I guess the cat is out of the bag.

Sharni - Tell me how you feel.

Tom - I like you, but I just got ok with Laura and I don't want to ruin that straight away by saying I like her best friend.

Sharni - I get that. I'm happy to wait until you feel comfortable with your relationship with Laura.

Tom - I'm glad you understand... That's another thing I like about you. You're understanding and kind and loving and you just have a good soul.

I blush at that comment. Oh my god. What am I doing? This is Laura's brother. She won't want this... But she would want me to be happy too... I don't know what to do.

We talk for hours. And Laura walks into Tom's room.

Laura - Dummy, you missed breakfast. So Lunch is downstairs...

Tom - Ok, let me say bye first.

Laura - Who are you talking to?

She jumps on the bed and sees my face and gets up and walks off, not saying a word... Shit...
