It was a dark early morning, the stars were fading and the moon was still low in the sky. The crunch of dried up leave and grass on the ground cracked beneath a pair of feet that seemed slow and worn out. The truth is, he's been walking for 3 weeks now. Hardly ever stopping except for a quick nap in a sleeping bag that was stuffed in the large dark blue backpack, barely balanced on the shoulders of the man. He's passed through an entire kingdom and so on further back to get here. The tales of a kingdom, bent on freedom, unity and peace had managed to reach his ears- and now he finally arrived.
Who this person was, was much more than could be explained in a simple explanation. This, was Nathanial. He looked normal, with black eyes and eyes that shone dark blue like the night sky. Pale skin that had Rosey tints.. He had a bright green shirt with elbow-length sleeves that had the design of a star in the middle, light brown pants and dark brown combat-like boots. His legs were shaking with every step he took, sweat beads falling down his forehead. He was ready to give up on this journey.
But then he saw it. The peak of a flag in the distance. The black, grey and white striped on it with the striking red triangle interrupting the flow of smooth, gradient colors. That was a sight he was smiling ear to ear for. He picked up the pace, nearly to a run if his legs would've carried him. Those tales and the stories weren't just some folks tale! That flag, the flag that symbolized the war this nation had gone through that had led to the symbolizing peace. He knew that he could have that, after everything he's gone through to get to that--Collapsing onto the ground just a few miles away from where the town of this nation was. The hard earth beneath him with smears of dirt on his cheek... Knees buckled underneath him and he had fallen hard onto the ground. His whole body felt like it gave up. Then he heard someone walk up behind him, but couldn't turn to face it. "Oh dear... That certainly isn't good. Don't worry one bit, I'll help." A feminine voice spoke out, before arms reached out around him and helped him up.
As this strange person helped him get to his destination, she decided to start a bit of small talk. "So who are you? It's not every day I see someone as work out as you are." Nathanial was truly appreciative of her helping, he gave her a small smile before speaking. "Well, I'm Nathanial Harver. And I've been walking here for about, uh, 3 weeks time? Possibly longer. I haveny truly stopped and rested so I suppose that'd help me not have fallen such as that." She nodded, and they were only a short distance from the town now. This tall brown and turquoise clocktower was visible to them, as the clock hands were stuck at 3:49. "Well, my name is Kimberly, I work as a historian here; bet you wouldn't have guessed that! This place has surprisingly a lot of history.." It sure didn't look like it.
They soon had arrived on the dirt path of the village as they walked in. There was people everywhere at this time of day...whatever time it had been. Kimberly brought him to a decently sized mushroom house near the edges of a wall, that seemed to separate sections of the town. She brought him inside and put him on the small bed, you walked into the bedroom since the only three rooms she had accessible to people was her book room, bedroom and kitchen. "There you are! Are you hungry? Thirsty?I have some rabbit stew brewing." Nathanial nodded, he wasn't one to deny hospitality from someone, that'd just seem rude! She went into the connected kitchen and she looked over at him while she stirred the stew. "So Nathanial.. why were you so on the idea of finding Aster? I understand for the peace and serenity from the tales, but why would you need it so badly?" It was a valid question.
"Well, I've had my.. "Experiences" in my life and I needed it." That's as far as he had been willing to go in terms of saying it. She was fine with it and was just about to say something before someone came bursting in. "Kimberly! Where have you been? We were supposed to meet half an hour ago." Some dark haired man spoke to her without regarding Nathanial being there. "Relax Taylor. I was helping someone find their way here." He looked over and saw him, eyeing him up and down before giving him a glare that showed how he felt. "Yeah... I think we should try again some other time, don't you think so?" She nodded and was just about to give him a wave of goodbye but he was already gone. "Well that was an odd leave.." Nathanial was silent. That man seemed to have no liking of him whatsoever. How come? He did seem awfully familiar. He was so deep into thought that his voice came out so low only he knew what he had spoken. "Yeah, it truly was.."
