Chapter 2- No bringing your sister a rabbit

The male couldn't help but glance at his wife and grinned slightly, "Yup, he takes after his uncle, doesn't he?" He turned back to the two children, "I'm Kadrian and this is my mate Esther. Your uncle works for me and is out of town taking care of some business for me. Do you mind if we come in and sit down for a few?"

Esther lightly smacked Kadrian's shoulder, "Relax Kad, you are probably going to scare the poor pups to death." She moved over and sat on the edge of the bed and rested her hand on his ankle, "Please relax Zane we aren't a threat and we can talk about it later. Since your uncle is out of town he asked my mate and I to swing past and check on you. He really wanted to be here when you woke up and is pretty upset he can't be here."

Kad sat down in a chair and let his wife do her thing. She was the Luna of the pack and dealing with scared and wounded wolves was part of her job. She was essentially the peace keeper for the pack. Unless you were a rogue wolf very rarely would a wolf not be able to respond to her presence.

Zane did relax slightly but he simply didn't know these people. They were setting the voice in his mind off. It wasn't in a bad way so much as not being sure who they were or why there were here. It was very hard to describe what he was getting from the voice since he just didn't know what the feelings meant. When the female sat down and rested her hand on his ankle for some reason the voice seemed to calm down. He did as well though why he wasn't sure.

He had to try and stay protective of his sister since she was all he had left, "How do I know you are who you say you are? All I know is my parents are dead, my sister was somehow hurt, and I have been asleep for several months." Zane's voice was hard yet brittle. He didn't even think when he wrapped his arms around his sister for comfort, "The only people I have left are my sister and my uncle. I don't even know where I am now, so don't tell me to relax. I want my uncle here." He'd forgotten about his Aunt since they'd seen her so seldomly. He knew about her, but she was gone so much for her photoshoots.

Liv was holding on to him as well though she wasn't nearly as concerned. She had met them before since they'd been moved here, and they were nice, "Relax Zane, I know them, and Uncle Mike does work for Mr. Kadrian." She made a slight face though, "He won't talk about his work other than it's in security. He says it's all hush hush stuff." Her voice was very quiet and sad as she spoke.

Zane turn towards Liv and met her eyes. His were showing his concern for her though his face now had a hardness to it, "I don't know them Liv and Unc isn't here and you are all I have left. I can't trust anyone right now. Not when it comes to you sis."

Esther looked at her husband and she had a sad expression on her face. There was both sympathy and hints of pride for how he was acting. Even as young as his wolf was he was showing what was important, pack and family. What he had to deal with was upsetting since it had been a rogue who had done it to him, "I understand what you are saying Zane. I have a cell phone you can use to call him. Your sister knows his number so call and talk to him. He is busy, so he might not be able to answer immediately but he will contact you." She pulled the phone out and set it on the table.

Kad gave the two children a smile, "I will give him a call as well and try and get him back as soon as possible. You have our sympathy son and especially waking up to learn about everything. As soon as you talk to him give us a call. He has asked when the two of you are released to have us take you to our place. Mike lives there also. He has had most of your clothing and personal items moved here. The rest of it he will talk to you about."

He stood as did his wife after giving Zane's leg one last squeeze, "I will swing past later with some things for you if you would like. Have your sister show you to the room she has here if they will let you. She has some games and movies you might want to use or watch." She paused and then grinned, "Then again I have a feeling you might not want to watch some of the movies she has." She let her husband lead her out of the room.
