Chapter 20 - Loner family and David and Leon what?

~~~ Mike informs Kad he found hismate

How long Mike and the she-wolf stood there as the sensations flowed through them they weren't sure, but it felt like it was quite some time. Mike finally lifted his muzzle to the moon and howled to let any wolf nearby know she was his. Even though there was joy in his howl there was sadness as well even as so much of Zane's howling had the same, *Alpha I have found my mate and she is the courier I do believe.* He had to let Kadrian know.

Annie had lifted her muzzle and let out her own howl in thanks to the Goddess. As she listened to his howl she heard the underlying sadness and wanted to know why. Something had hurt her mate and Annie was not pleased at all. Once she was done howling she nuzzled him and used to her body to express her concern.

Kadrian was relaxing in his suite with Esther when Mike contacted him, and he immediately started laughing, *Take her to your suite here and I will have Esther let Zane know you will talk to him in the morning. Go relax and get to know your mate. I will ensure the pups are taken care of.* He had included Esther in the sending and he turned and gave her a good kiss, "I'm so pleased for him and I can only hope this will be good for Mike and his family."

Esther returned the kiss and gave her mate a very pleased smile, "I'm so pleased for Mike and I'm sure this will be good for all of them. It might be rough for a time since Zane is going to have problems, but I think in the long run it will be good." She kissed her mate again and gave him a good hug, "I'm ready for bed, how about you?" She batted her eyes at him when she said it.

~~~ Zane discovers Mike found hismate

Zane returned the stares and twitched his ears at his team, *Why are you staring at me?* He was most definitely feeling confused. When Esther contacted him, he was even more confused.

*Zane, Mike is going to be busy this evening. Something came up and he is needed at the pack house. It isn't anything related to the two idiots in case you were wondering. Go back to the house and as I said he will talk to you later.* She let Zane go and hoped he wasn't going to ask to many questions this evening.

Zane let out an annoyed growl since he had been having fun with the run, *Okay guys I was told to head back home and Uncle Mike is going to be busy this evening.* He stood and gave his head a good shake since he was still feeling slightly out of it.

Melody walked over and pressed her body against his, *Zane I think what Mrs. Esther didn't say was Beta Mike probably met his mate. He is going to be busy the rest of the night as he gets to know her. I'm so pleased if that's what happened.*

Zane had leaned against her when she came over to comfort him. When she mentioned mate, he tensed and almost felt like he had been punched in the gut. What was this going to do to what was left of their family? Was Mike going to pay more attention to her than him and Olivia? He could feel his heart starting to beat faster and his chest tightening up with fear. Zane wasn't worried Mike would send them elsewhere, he just was scared Mike might focus on his mate more than on Olivia.

Rico felt Zane's reaction to what he had been told and settled down on Zane's other side and leaned against him. He felt Melody lean even more against Zane and the two pretty much sandwiched him. Both of their wolves were giving him as much support as possible. Simone, Mindy, and the twins came over and pressed as close as possible to help provide comfort.

Melody rubbed her head against his, *Zane what has you so scared? Having a mate is a good thing.* She could smell the tension as well as hear his change in heart rate.

Zane felt them leaning against him and it really did help. He could feel the comfort from their wolves and he leaned into the comfort and took several slow breaths, *Just a stupid concern. I will be fine.* He returned the head rub and then gave Rico a nudge, *With the support of our team I will be fine.* Zane had finally decided he was most comfortable using the inclusive 'we' as far as the team was concerned. He might be the leader of the team, but it was their team and he was going to treat it that way.
