The night sky was aglow with bright stars as the pale crescent moon shone like a silvery claw in the night sky. Takashi and I remained there as we looked up at the blanket of stars that stretched to infinity. As usual, he's watching it silently.

"Takash-"

I was cut off when he suddenly fell on my lap, I wonder if he's sleeping?

"Takashi?" I whispered, trying to poke his cheeks once again.

I chuckled and let out a sigh. "Just tell me if you're sleepy alrea- wait"

My eyes widened as soon as I got to touch his forehead, he's freaking burning!

"A fever?"

I facepalmed as I tried to carry him on my back. Our tent wasn't located that far from where we are now so maybe I could carry him there.

Fortunately, I did. I laid him there as soon as we got back and immediately turned on the heater. I sighed as I took a glance at him. Why didn't I notice it earlier?

I prepared lukewarm water and a towel to give warmth to his body. It was pretty cold tonight, and I let him stay outside without even noticing that he's got a fever. I'm such an idiot!

I fished around our bags to look for an emergency kit where medicines are stored but it wasn't there. "No fucking way we left it at house..."

Turns out it really was. I sighed and went outside to cook something for him, maybe a porridge will do.

It was already past eleven so I don't think there'll be someone out there to help us, I can't even call for help since there's no signal here. I want to carry him on my back till we get back to the roadway where we can ask for help but I'm afraid we won't make it, especially because the temperature dropped.

I sighed in frustration as I made up my mind. I left a note with the porridge I prepared for him saying, "I'll get you medicine, take a rest and wait for me. I'll be back"

I made sure that the tent was well secured and assured him that the temperature wouldn't drop to keep him warm. With that, I rushed outside since I remembered there was a drugstore near the area.
