DH x OC: I Told the Moon and Stars About You

Prompt: "I told the moon and stars about you." It's up to you to have it on a happy end, or a sad one. Write this in 350 or more words.

The night wind blows gently as Reine stood where the moon and stars shone the brightest in all their glory. It is her last night on the set of the television series where she and Daniel worked together. It was years ago since that silly text confession and her realization that she will never end up with the one she has loved for long. Time traversed on, and that familiar pain of rejection still stabbed her heart like a knife that enjoyed piercing through her already teared-up heart.

Enjoying her own company with her favorite cup of tea, the sound of the wind whistling, and the shining of the moon and stars, she just stared off the horizon, thinking of the life she would have if she dared to just tell him what she felt towards him since the first time she met the man. It amazes her to still go on with life even though she has been rejected by the one she loved, even if she never went on with her confession. For her, seeing him happy with someone else is already a sign that she will be rejected.

"The moon is beautiful, isn't it?"

She turned around to see him, also with his cup of tea and in comfy clothing, only for her to look down, feeling that same stabbing phenomenon in her heart. It was all she can feel right now.

"I told the moon and stars about you too..." she replied with a heavy heart. "Every single night when everyone is fast asleep and it's just me with my thoughts."

Daniel looked down too, knowing what she has been going through since he saw those deleted messages from her. He just heard of what she felt towards him today, no thanks to her closest friend and confidante. It also pained him to listen to her confidante's stories of Reine's tears every time she would go and talk to the moon and stars as a heartbroken fool.

"W-what did they tell you?" He can hear his voice quivering, feeling tears slowly falling as he felt that same feeling as Reine's, like two soulmates sharing that same pain.

"T-they told me that it's not worth telling anymore." She looked back up, looking at the moon and stars shining less than earlier, as if they mourn with them their failure in love. Daniel stood next to her side, holding her hand for the first and last time.

"Will you have me if destiny gives us another lifetime?" He asks her, sadness and hope in his eyes.

"That's if you won't find someone else to love."
