Finally stopping at a large oak tree, Axle let go of my arm which I gently rubbed giving him a glare. "That hurt you know." I bit harshly.

A flash of what I thought was concern flew past his eyes before he quickly covered it with anger and cockiness as he walked up to me standing tall.

"Can't handle a little pain?" He sneered.

My jaw locked in a frown as I started to get sick of his attitude. "Why are we here?" I asked changing the subject.

"To settle things." He stated, looking at a clearing nearby. "You win in a fight against me and I'll do whatever you want me to, I win...and you move in with me." He finished with a grin.

I looked at him shocked and annoyed since he, oh so unfairly, made it so that I was at the disadvantage, considering I'd be fighting not only my mate but also an Alpha. Then again, for male wolfs, hurting your mate is a big no no, so maybe I wasn't as screwed as I thought.

"Ok, I'll fight." I said confidently.

Axle looked surprised for a moment before hiding it with a smirk.

"You can go ahead and shift behind that tree." He said. "I won't look." He finished taking of his shirt, knowing the effect he had on me.

I blushed before walking over behind the large tree and undressing as to not tear anything.

When our wolfs shift we have a bad habit of breaking and tearing anything we are wearing before the shift, whether it be blouses or necklaces nothing comes out unscathed. Unless, it is meant to be worn by one of my kind. For example, my father gave my mother a necklace that will not break but change size when my mother shifts. She never takes it off and beside that, it has been the only 'modified' thing for us I've ever seen.

After unclothing, I shifted into my auburn wolf that I was so proud of. True, I was small however I made up for it in speed, stamina, and strength the 3 most important things any wolf could have.

I stepped out from behind the tree and my knees nearly buckled at seeing my beautifully dangerous mate a second time in his true form. I grinned slightly when I saw him stumble, experiencing the same problem I had. Looking up, I stared gazing at an earring I had completely missed. It was large yet small enough to fit his wolfs ear and was colorful yet tame enough to fit a strong, masculine wolf like an Alpha.

He stepped forward walking in circles around me scrutinizing my every feature as if to memorize them forever, and stopped finally nodding before stepping out into the clearing.

After a big breath I followed, preparing myself for the fight I soon enough would be winning, for this was more than just a fight, this was a battle. A battle in which I had to prove to Axle and to myself that I was not some washed up wolf, but a strong wolf. A strong wolf who could protect herself, her mate, her pack, and even her pups someday. This wasn't my pack, so I had to prove once and for all that I was a member of this pack and that I could take care of myself.

I spit out grass and dirt as I stood on shaking legs. I looked up, digging my claws deeper into the ground before ramming into a distracted Axle and knocked him off his feet sending him flying across the clearing. He landed with a thud showing more power than grace and charged back at me not missing a beat.

Expecting this, I waited till the last second and jumped, stepping on him to boost myself higher off the ground. I landed much softer than him and turned clawing at him as he rose up on his hind legs. Realization washed over me much to late as I tried, and failed, to run before being crushed by Axle's much larger frame and rolling in a ball of claws and teeth down a hill I didn't even know was there.

We both landed with a smack and while he jumped up and prepared for another round I whined from a sharp rock that pierced my leg, sending a pain that started to spread from the base of my ankle to the top of my thigh. Axles smile faded as he realized I was injured and ran over dropping his snout down to mine to comfort me. As he licked my nose I felt a spark light in the back of my head and relaxed knowing instantly what had happened.

"Shift." A deep sweet voice commanded from inside my head. Funny how even when my own body was in serious pain, my teenage-girl-OMG-he's-so-hot-hormones still raged on at 110%.

"No." I frowned, whining at the pain.

"Jade..." He said trailing off.

"On one condition." I huffed.

"Are you serious!?" Axle growled, standing up taller.

"Ow. Your so loud." I muttered.

"Jade your hurt. If you don't shift right now I'm caring you back to the pack house by your neck!" He challenged.

"If I shift I win." I finished lifting up my head and brushing his snout with mine. Stubbornness at its finest folks.

"Jade..." Axle hesitated.

I whimpered trying to enhance my point, but soon felt the pain again and whimpered again for real.

"Fine." He rushed, running to get my clothes.

I sighed, waiting for him and laid my head back down. As he turned the corner fully clothed and holding my things I flashed him a weak wolf-like grin.

"Your the most stubborn person I've ever meet." He deadpanned before cracking a small smile. As he handed me my clothes, he turned waiting for me to shift and try to cloth myself.

Struggling and huffing, I made it to putting on my shorts before Axle got impatient and just turned around and slipped them on, fluidly missing my large, bloody wound in one motion. I blushed before zipping up my shorts and looking up at him seeing that he shared my Crimson coloring.

Looking away he lifted me up into his arms princess style and started to run into the direction of, what I guessed, was the pack house.

"My leg hurts like hell." I realized, before screaming.
