Let's start with a disclaimer: neither of the series that I've written, started as one.
The idea of Official Town Business came to me when I was trying to cheer up my friend who was being tortured by a boss from hell. Killing a fictional version of said boss was a natural move, don't you think?
Sweetly Isolated was written in the middle of the pandemic because, at the time, we all needed every bit of 'sugar and spice and everything nice' we could get our hands on. By then, I've had a few self-books published on Kindle; there were two stories in Fox & Oakby series - and it seemed only logical to smoosh all my stories together into one wibbly-wobbly romance-shromance verse.
Thus, timeline inconsistencies (e.g. Prince Harry still being single in the middle of the pandemic). Yeah... sorry about those. Just ignore them, and enjoy the mental image of your Holyoake of choice. Or an Oakby, or a Bjornsson, or a Whitlaw.
Also, you don't have to buy my Kindles to find out who John Barnett is and who wrote the books in the Oakenton series that Roy Amaratunga stars in. Just ask me. I'll gladly tell you.
Note: this is NOT the suggested order of reading the stories. Which story to read first (and next) is entirely up to you. I personally always start with Look Back at Me when I reread my stories for a refresher, but it's just because Rhys gives me palpitations.
Note #2: Fox & Oakby is my only mystery series. The rest of the stories are pure romance.
Note #3: Fox & Oakby are Summer stories. The Holyoake stories - The Swallow Barn Cottage series (3 stories), The Fleckney Fields series (2 stories), and The Holyoake Christmas series (2 stories) - take place just before or after Christmas.
And finally, check the comments to this guide. I'll be posting links to the corresponding stories in them.
