One day Storm woke to a knock on his door, " sir its time for your meeting."
He sat up rubbing his eyes, " I'll be out give me a minute."
The foot steps walked away down the hall. Storm looked out his window seeing the sun covered with clouds. He sighed, " please come home..."
He stood up and washed his face with water then got ready for the day. He sighed again then left his room being met by two guards. They always stayed by his side night or day. He greeted them with a smile, " morning Kilo...Morning Reko."
They both smiled and nodded. They wouldn't speak to him but they were at least friendly towards him. He made his way to the kitchen where the maid sat. She shot up fast, " Prince your awake already!"
He rubbed his head, " yea"
He looked at her as she pulled a fresh loaf of bread out of the oven. She put it on a plate and then the table. He took a slice of it enjoying the fresh taste it gave. A merchant ran in, " Prince!"
He seemed out of breath gasping for air. Storm stood up as his guards held a sword, " yes?"
He caught his breath, " a dragon outside the walls sir....."
Storm froze then looked at his guards, " get everyone geared up."
The merchant shook his head, " she's hurt."
Storm looked at him, " have you lost yourself...you said a dragon, they're dangerous."
"please just do this once sir."
He let out a sigh, " fine.."
The merchant led them to the gate and down the walking path. A screech came from the forest line. It lay there tired and bleeding in wires sharper than his sword. He got on his knee by her running his hand down her scales. She made no budge but, growled opening her eyes to him. His guards stood close looking at the wire, " Sir we can't help her."
Storm saw the sorrow in her eyes, all the pain, " we're not leaving her alone."
" sir other dragons will be here soon."
" I said no."
He looked at the wire noticing it was loose on her in areas so he pulled his sword out cutting them piece by piece slowly. Two dragons landing growling and snarling at them. Kilo and Reko had run off not wanting to die, so did the merchant.
Storm looked at them ducking from every snap of their jaws. They both soon were men standing there looking angry and hungry. They were armed so Storm did the same, " Please I don't want to mean harm. I want to help."
One snipped, "You're a liar, all you humans lie."
Their swords met a few times until she growled. They froze sitting by her, " sister hold on."
Storm slowly backed away getting back to the kingdom. At the gate stood guards armed, they were all relieved to see him alive. Reko stood there looking at him not saying a word but did lower his head in apology.
