The Nemesis Of Eternity: The Fated Beginning

Chap-7(Alex)

 Hmm.... My head is throbbing. What happened? Now I remember. I shouted Becka and Zack's name. They were near me. I just hugged them both. It was really a big relief to me. I literally cried but hid it. It will be embarrassing. Both of them are fine. 

Then Becka said, "Stand up, we need to go. The trip was cancelled due to the earthquake , though. Anyways we need to go join the other kids". 

Zack then said, "Unfortunately many demigods died but there were no casualties on normal people since evacuation was done properly". 

I felt a little sad because I couldn't do anything. I just have been a burden. I want to at least protect my friends. For the first time I felt powerless. Suddenly I was transported somewhere. It was not like before but I can control the whole space. It's like my imagination here. But there was a book there. It looked dark and it was like absorbing the darkness itself. I tried to erase it but it didn't work. 

I tried to touch it but suddenly the book opened. It started to absorb everything fastly and even me. I felt more powerless even in my imagination. But I won't give up. I tried my best and it stopped. It came near to me. And it disappeared. Then many words like structure were revolving around me. I felt like too much information flooded into me. Then I understood it. It's a martial art like I saw on TV but it's a real one. It has devouring power and its source looks dark. But its name is Mercier arts. What a lame name. I will keep a new one. Yeah, I got a good one. Its name is Primordial Devouring arts. I am proud of myself. But I should probably go. But how can I? Then after a second of thought I left the place and was near Zack. It looks like they carried me. 

We were reunited with our class but I got intense glares. I forgot my glasses. I just covered my face for now. We were then sent home safely. And next day we have school like nothing happened. Not gonna lie but I am too tired but my parents didn't allow me to take a leave. I absent-mindedly wore my dress and finally got in my dad's car. Just like usual we went to school. That's what I want to say but I don't have my classes. It's a crisis for us. Just after I came home, I got so many scolding. It's all because of Becka. 

Then I left the car and went to school. But everyone is staring at me weirdly. I don't like this kind of attention too. Suddenly a girl came. I remember her. Her name is Olivia. She bullies me sometimes because I look lame and lazy. She came to me and said, "Hey Alex, how are you doing?". But I was really angry at her but I just ignored her. I didn't want any more attention on me. But it was impossible. I didn't see Becka and Zack at all. 

Then came an announcement, "Alex, Becka, Chris, Olivia and Zack. Please come to the principal's office". 

So, I did as instructed and met Becka and Zack too. After we reached the office, all were gathered. The principal looked grumpier than usual. He has a short moustache and is bald but wears a wig. And is a little short compared to the average adult. But he was too strict when it came to rules. There was also a man standing behind him. He looked like a businessman wearing an office suite. He also had some documents with him. 

The principal started to say, "Hereafter you are going to study in (On Construction) and your parents are already informed. You will depart next week so get ready".

 Then he sent us to our class. That was short and our principal doesn't speak like that. Becka came and whispered to me, "Look, they know that we can see something special like the last time. Since our parents accepted it, we should probably go. Let's meet in the tree house to discuss later". Becka is surely in deep thought. Then I went to my class. And I forgot that I didn't wear the glasses again. People stared at me. It felt uncomfortable. Then I reached my class and Olivia, who was behind me was glaring at me. She looks pissed off. If just ignoring pissed her off then if I said something like she did I can't imagine the consequences. 

Still the good thing is the teacher didn't ask me any questions or didn't give me any job either. He also let me sleep. When I slept, I went to my imaginary world. And yes, that's where I am going to train. There was a lot of space and I could create anything here. It's the best I could ask for. I just thought of a peaceful place without any disturbances. Then I practiced the new martial art I got. But I didn't know where to start. It was confusing. 

Then I heard a voice saying, "Start from basics you idiot. Start with punches first." 

I was shocked to hear the voice because it's my world then who is the one spoke. I tried to find him but it's no use. I just started to practice. Then the voice said many instructions like this and I followed because it actually helped me. And his advice is so accurate that he knows everything about the art. I tried to ask about him but the only information I got was that his name is Mercier and the art name was also Mercier art before. 

So, I guess the lame name was given by him. But I am really grateful for him because now at least I can be strong. Then the voice said, "If you succeed in comprehending the first law of devouring then I will give you a reward". That really got me hyped up and I trained hard but I just couldn't. Then I woke up. It was Zack who woke me up. 

The school just finished. Then we went home with our parents. I changed my dress and went to the tree house as Becka told me. But to my surprise there was not only Becka and Zack but Olivia and Chris were there too. She is a popular girl and good at studies but she sometimes looks down on people too much. She has blonde hair with blue eyes and an athletic body. Chris is an athlete and he is a good runner. He also has blue eyes but his hair is gold mixed with red and he looks above average. 

He isn't popular as much as Zack but his sincerity and sportsmanship alone attracted many people. But how did they get here? Their houses should be very far away. I think I blurted out the last thought.

 Zack smiled and said, "Dude I brought them with my limo." 

Oh yeah Zack is rich but he doesn't show it. His whole family is very lucky that they get success in whatever they do. Now let's get to the topic. 

I asked, "Why are they here?".

 Becka answered, "Alex they are the same as us. They can see things that normal people can't see. And all five of us are going there. So, think about what we should do now. We should get as much information as we can".

 She sees me in a way which says, "If you speak another word don't think you can go freely". 

So, I just shut my mouth. But Chris was shocked.

 He said, "Is that guy Alex? He is way too different."

 These guys never pay attention to me now they get surprised. I am starting to get annoyed by this.
