Nine til Two

~Chapter 5~

  I grab Erik's earring that has been hanging from the bottom of my pants.

This is Erik's feather earring.

He's had these earrings ever since our mom stopped coming home.
Our mom stopped coming home because of the multiple work shifts she had so she could provide money and food for Erik, me, and our father.

The earrings were a gift from our mom when Erik turned 17. Erik has had them on ever since.

"Aye! Seth you comin?!"

I look over to see Xander waving in a motion for me to come over.

"Uh- Yea, I'll be there in a second!"

I put Erik's earring in my pocket and catch up with Xander.

"You kinda dozed off there-"'
Xander says looking at me while he chuckles.

"Yea- sorry, just processing the lake incident is all."

Everyone was all around the fire except for Erik...

Hm..

Xander then tells me he's going to change his clothes inside. I nod as I see him walk inside the house.

"Hey Juniper?"

I walked over towards her as she was setting up the marshmallows, chocolate, and crackers all on a table Geo set up earlier.

"Hm? Yeah Seth?"

"Have you seen Erik?"

Juniper nods her head. "Mhm! He said he was going back to the lake to look for his earrings."

His earrings huh?

Well I have one of them..That's for sure.

"Thanks- I was just wondering."

I looked around at everyone, Lane was doing alright now, drinking some hot chocolate near the fire.

Felix was eating some s'mores already, taking off his jacket near the fire for some reason because honestly. It was fucking cold out here, why would he take off his jacket.

I don't know where Zelk nor Geo were. Xander had different clothes on now, he was talking to Nikki near the entrance of the house door.

Speaking of new clothes..I need to change out of these before I get sick or somethin.

I sigh and walk inside the house passing by Xander and Nikki.
I go into the livingroom and grab my bag, opening it up and grabbing another set of clothes I brought.

I look at the bags scattered around the room.

I noticed that Geo's bag looked like it had the most stuff in it while Felix's was pretty small.

Did Geo bring a whole set of camp things? It wouldn't be surprising either if it were just full of aid kits.

Manz cares too much for all of us.

As for Felix, well..The bag was so small it only looked like he had a few clothes and maybe just his phone in there.

I mean- he does have a car outside..All his stuff might just be there.

Ah- enough snooping Seth. Let's do what you're supposed to be doing.

I head to the bathroom upstairs and try to open it. It seems locked until the door opens and I see a wet Geo walking out.

"Sorry- I didn't know you were in here Geo."

He smiles, "No worries- it's hard to tell if someone is in here anyways."
