     " Captain."

     " Yes, Sir."

" Tell them We wish to board at once."

The Pilot spoke to Viceroy while Jedi Knight Lei-Ke Elka meditated in her seat. The young girl had become a Jedi Knight two days prior and this was her first mission since taking the trials. However, despite the achievement she'd just made, she wasn't about to calm down. This was, after all, her first mission as a Jedi Knight, and she was not known as cautious for nothing.

" With all due respect, the ambassadors for the Supreme Chancellor wish to board immediately."

" Yes, of course," Viceroy said calmly." As you know our blockade is perfectly legal, and we'd be happy to receive the ambassadors."

The ship soon landed, and once the three Jedi disembarked, they were led by a protocol droid by the name of TC-14 to a meeting room, being told," We are deeply honored by your visit, ambassadors. Make yourselves comfortable, my master will be with you shortly."

The three Jedi took off their hoods before Obi-wan spoke first.

" I have a bad feeling about this."

     " I don't sense anything," Qui-Gon spoke calmly.

" It's not about the mission, master. It's something... elsewhere, elusive..."

" I feel similar," Lei-Ke said quietly, taking a seat at the table.

" Don't center on your anxieties Obi-wan, likewise for you Lei-Ke. Keep your concentration in the here and now, where it belongs," Qui-gon scolded the two young Jedi.

" But Master Yoda said I should be mindful of the Future."

" Yes but not at the expense of the moment. Be mindful of the living force young padawan."

" Yes, Master," Obi-wan said with a nod." How do you think this trade Viceroy will deal with the Chancellor's demands?"

" These Federation types are cowards," his mentor answered simply." The negotiations will be short."

After a short while, the other two joined Lei-Ke at the table before Obi-wan impatiently asked," Is it in their nature to make us wait this long?"

" No. I sense an unusual amount of fear for something as trivial as this trade dispute."

As he spoke, TC-14 entered the room again, offering the three Jedi some refreshments.

The three of them sat in silence for some time before there was the sound of a nearby explosion, the three of them whipped out their lightsabers, Lei-Ke holding her green one up high with her right hand, keeping her left one free in case she needed to move anything with the force.

However, a much closer threat soon followed, as a green gas started to filter out of the air vents, beginning to fill the room.

Lei-Ke quickly glanced at it, labeling it as " Dioxis" before all three quickly held their breaths.

The door to the meeting room opened and TC-14 exited the room, running into the gathered battle droids on the other side, before saying," Oh! Excuse me," and hurrying away, leaving the other droids to continue starring at the gas-filled room.

" Check it out Corporal," one droid spoke to another." We'll cover you."

     " Roger Roger."

As the Corporal moved towards it, three lightsabers ignited within the room, two green one blue, as the droids all collectively realized the three Jedi weren't quite as dead as they'd guessed.

     " Uh-Oh, blast them."

Elka jumped into battle with the other Jedi, quickly taking out three droids with her saber and shoving two more into each other, as the other two quickly took down the remaining droids.

Just as quickly, the three began racing down the hallway, towards the command center doors, with the two younger Jedi taking down the surrounding droids and the Jedi Master being left to start to cut through the door.

However, their advantage didn't last for long, as the blast doors, closed, slowing Qui-Gon's progress on getting through the door.

Just as he began to nearly cut through again, a pair of shielded droids came around the corner.

" Master! Destroyers!" Obi-wan yelled in warning." They have shield generators!"

     " It's a stand-off," Qui-gon said." Let's go."

Lei-Ke quickly glanced around at their surroundings, before her eyes landed on the ceiling." The ventilation shaft! The destroyers won't be able to fit up there, it may be our best bet."

The other Jedi nodded, as all three of them hopped up, one at a time, and began the tiresome process of crawling through the vents until they reached the hanger.

With a quick flick of the hand, Qui-Gon quietly threw off the vent cover and the three jumped down and scurried to hide behind some boxes.

" Battle droids... It's an invasion army," Obi-wan guessed.

" This is an odd play for the trade federation. We've got to warn the Naboo and contact Chancellor Valorum," Qui-gon instructed.

Lei-Ke glanced back at the droids again before speaking," We could stow aboard the ships, since the droids are powered off while flying, we won't be noticed, and it's probably our best bet to getting down to Naboo."

" Bright thinking, Lei-Ke, Plo Koon trained you well," Qui-Gon stated." You two should stick together, despite how well-trained you may be, I'm not quite sure I trust your ability to stay out of trouble."

Obi-wan grinned while Lei-Ke smiled sheepishly, though neither argued.

" You were right about one thing master," the Padawan added, watching the battle droids board their ships." The Negotiations were short."

A/N: Not quite as long of a chapter as I would have liked, though that was where I thought it best to end. Happy barely May the 4th ( it is currently 11:21 PM for me) in honor of Star Wars day I decided to publish the first chapter of the book I was working on, and I hope to end this series ( I plan to have a book per trilogy) next May the 4th, although I'm not sure how doable that will be. However, I hope at least someone somewhat enjoyed reading this, any comments are more then welcome, and have an absolutely wonderful rest of your day.
