A growl tore from Klaus's throat as he stalked through Chicago in search of Damon. Katerina had said Damon had been left a house on the outskirts of town. He had spent the better half of the morning searching and had found nothing.

Once Klaus found Damon, he would make him ever regret leaving his side. Storming inside the club in front of him Klaus collapsed onto a bar stool.

He was seething with rage at having to give up the time he could have spent finding werewolves to find his mate. "It's been a long time since you've been in here. Are you looking for someone specific? Perhaps a wayward mate of yours."

Glancing up Klaus saw the one and only Gloria. While to anyone else it would have seemed she was making conversation, Klaus knew better.

She never said or did anything without a specific plain in mind. It kept her powerful and alive, but it also made Klaus trust her a lot less than he probably should.

"Where is he?" Klaus glared at her as if her very presence offended him. The words came out in a deep growl filled with curiosity and anger.

Gloria swallowed thickly before placing a placating smile on her face. "I wouldn't know. One minute we were unlocking his memories and the next he had bolted like a bat out of hell. He didn't even tell me who locked his memories away."

Klaus observed the age-old witch in front of him. If what she said was true than she had been the last one to truly see Damon. Add in the fact that she somehow discovered Damon to be her mate. Well, it just made her in Klaus's mind that is, more of a threat to him and to his family.

A threat that would soon have to be either sworn to secrecy or eliminated from the equation. He could not let it get out that he had a mate. It would only serve to make people see him as weak and that was something he could not afford.

He had sent Elijah and Katerina to look for Damon on the other side of Chicago. They had not sent word to him on whether they had found him yet.

Elijah would call him of that Klaus was sure. If he did not, then he would not be reunited with their siblings for a long while to come. Klaus would make sure that he was laying in a coffin right along side them until he had Damon under control.

While Klaus was sure that it would not take long to control the wayward baby vampire, he was not taking any chances.

Damon sat staring at the waterfall intently in front of him. He had had trouble getting the conversation with his ancestors out of his head. No one has heard from him in over a hundred and sixty-four years.

His father was missing and had been missing since shortly after his birth. Yet his father had left him a note claiming that Damon would see him again. So that begged the question in Damon's mind, Was his father alive? If he was alive, where was he and where had he been all these years?

Damon was suddenly drove from his thoughts as his magic tingled on his skin. Concentrating on the feeling he realized it was alerting him to the fact that someone was fast approaching his location.

Standing up quickly he took off towards the cottage as fast as he could.

Very few people knew about this location, in fact only three people knew that he was aware of. Zachariah had been one of the people who had known about it as had Kol but they were both gone.

Zachariah was gone to old age, Kol was locked in a coffin by his brother and his father was missing and presumed dead.

No one else should be aware of the houses location and it was so far in the forest it could not just be stumbled upon by accident. Reaching his house Damon tore to his room and grabbed his grimoire off his bedside table before peering through the window towards the forest.
