It's been a couple of years after that 'day'. The elemental brothers were given a break from missions to sort themselves out from the loss.
They went back to Planet Earth to visit Tok Aba. They felt empty without their youngest brother who they loved so much. They tried their best to improve their mood to respect their late brother's wishes.
Thorn walked into his green-themed room filled with plants he took care of. He sat on his bed and stared at the window. The sun wasn't as bright as it used to be. He missed his warmth. He missed the sunshine his brother brought to his life. He held back the tears that were threatening to fall.
The door to his room opened and Gempa appeared. "Hey Thorn, I brought lunch for you," said Gempa.
"Thanks, Gempa. You can leave it there," Thorn replied.
Gempa placed his food on the table and walked towards Thorn and sat beside him on his bed.
"He protected us that time," said Gempa.
Thorn looked up and stared at his older brother. "He protected us knowing the cost of his actions," Gempa continued.
"He never changed, huh," Thorn mumbled. "Even though he promised."
Tears started to fall from Thorn's eyes. "He still that cocky younger brother I knew," Thorn sniffled.
Gempa placed an arm around Thorn letting him lean on his shoulder.
"I miss him, Gempa. Why wouldn't he come back?" Thorn cried trying to suppress his tears.
Gempa drew soothing circles on Thorn's back, "We all do Thorn. I wish he was here too. I've been harsh to him too. I didn't even had time to apologize and see that he also had something he was going through," Gempa said sadly.
They sat on the bed leaning into each other's warmth and watching the sun from the window for a couple of minutes.
Thorn wiped his tears and sat up. Gempa stood up and headed towards the door. "If you need anything, just tell me. I'll go help Tok Aba at the shop," Gempa smiled.
"Thanks, Gempa!" Thorn smiled at his brother.
Gempa left the room leaving Thorn sitting on his bed. He stood up and walked toward the plant sitting on his window sill. He gazed at the petals of the flower. The flower was golden like the sun. Looking at it gave Thorn warmth and he smiled thinking about it. It was Solar's favorite flower.
I got these for you. I know Marigolds are your favorite flowers.
Thank you, Thorn. You always know what I like.
"A plant can't grow without the sun's light. Without it, it would wither and die. I can't live without you, Solar. I miss you so much," Thorn said to himself.
Thorn gazed at the sunset. It was beautiful. It was comforting. It was warm. The sun was getting brighter. Thorn stood there confused. Suddenly, his power watch glitched. There appeared a symbol of the person he missed the most.
"Solar" Thorn stared at the watch in shock and confusion.
"It's Solar!"
A blinding light appeared with a golden circle. A figure stepped out of the light. He had the same cap and visors. It was him. His younger brother.
"SOLAR!" Thorn shouted running to embrace the figure he missed so much.
Solar opened his eyes and was met with a tight hug from his favorite brother.
"Thorn," Solar said softly. "I'm back."
"It's you. I missed you so much, you know?" Thorn cried with tears of joy.
"I missed you too, Thorn. You're my favorite brother after all," Solar chuckled.
Suddenly, the door slammed open revealing the rest of their brothers.
"Thorn? What happened? Why did you screa-" asked Gempa startled.
The elementals stood there dumbfounded. "Solar?"
"It's you. It's really you," Blaze said.
"Of course, it's me. Who else would be the shining and handsome elemental around he- WOAH," Solar was cut off by a big hug from his brothers.
"We missed you, Solar," said Taufan with tears of joy.
"Yeah! Why would you leave us like that?" Blaze pouted.
"Yeah. I-m sor-ry. Guys? Too ti-ight," said Solar gasping for air.
They released the hug for Solar to breathe. "You are never doing that again, Solar. You should listen to us more often," scolded Gempa.
"I know Mama Gem. I won't ever do it again," chuckled Solar.
"Just don't do anything by yourself. We're here for you, you dummy," said Halilintar.
"Hey! I am not a dummy!" argued Solar.
The others watched as the two rivals start another argument.
"They never change, huh," Taufan remarked.
"Alright. That's enough fighting, you two. Solar just came back and you're starting another war," said Gempa hitting their heads.
Solar rubbed his head in pain from the scolding. He was met with another hug from Thorn who seemed like he won't be letting go anytime soon.
Solar pat his head and watched the sun from the window. "I'm not going anywhere. I'm here."
"I know, Solar. I'm glad you came back," Thorn said softly.
Fin.
