"Bea I can't breathe he's actually going to be aware of my existence," Lucy squealed, jumping up and down on the roadside opposite the training ground, causing her best friend to giggle, but also gush at how happy she was. Lucy was a stereotypically beautiful girl, and Bea had no doubt the second Ben lay his eyes on her, he'd fall inlove. Bea on the other hand, was here purely for Lucy's support. She had no interest in football, and quite frankly had no idea who any of them were. But it was a day out, and it was keeping her best friend happy.
"Oh my god look babe, they're starting to come out," Lucy gasped as the first car exited the car park, a player smiling and waving as he drove past. "That was N'Golo Kante, he's a beauty," Lucy smiled, waving excitedly as he sped down the road in his fancy car.

One by one, expensive looking cars exited the training ground, the majority of them stopping and taking photos with their fans. Lucy was satisfied with the encounters and the photos she had, and even Bea was enjoying herself.

"I think we've missed him, everyone's already left apart from Ben and Mason. They must have gone home before we got here," Lucy sighed, pulling her coat tight around her as the sky opened with darkness, the round falling torrentially. The other fans that had been waiting had noticed this too, and alongside the weather, had decided to disperse. Just the two girls remained outside the gate, waiting with no sign for the final two boys. It had crossed Bea's mind to dismiss the whole idea, head home and get them both a hot chocolate and a cosy movie night, then maybe try again tomorrow. But she knew how much Lucy's heart would break if she didn't meet her footballer.
"There's no other way they could have gone out, surely! We'll just wait abit longer," Bea told her, pulling her own hood up of the teddy bear coat she wore.

"We can go now, it's been an hour since the rest of the players came out and I'm soaked through," Lucy sighed, taking one final glance at the driveway of the training ground. She looked away, her eyes fixed on her best friend who was looking behind her, also onto the driveway.
"Are you sure?" Bea queried with raised eyebrows, still not moving her eyes off the drive.
"Yep, let's go," she shrugged with a fake smile, beginning to walk away with her head down.
"No, Luce, are you really sure?" Bea giggled, grabbing her shoulder gently, and turning her to face the drive where a fancy looking car exited the car park.
"Oh my god," Lucy gasped, throwing her hands to her face before proceeding to run across the road to the grounds, like an excited teenager. Any maturity of being early twenties was out of the window when it came to her favourite footballer.
"Ben oh my god I love you so much I can't even" Bea heard Lucy well up as she slowly crossed the road to join her over hyper friend, a warmth across her face at her innocent joy. She seemed to speak to the footballer for a few minutes, before she handed him her phone and proceeded to take some photos. Bea simply stood behind watching the scene unfold, sneakily filming snippets of her excitement and adding them to her story. Her excitement was only fuelled as the footballer parked his car up, engaging in a genuine conversation with Lucy, leaving Bea awkwardly waiting behind her.
"You haven't waited all afternoon in the rain for him have you?!" Bea was interrupted as the window rolled down of a large Lamborghini of which had pulled up behind Lucy and her new friend.
"We have indeed, I think my best friend might be his biggest fan ever," Bea laughed in response, gesturing to the girl leaning through the boys yellow car window to cuddle him. The boy in the Lamborghini laughed, his eyes moving from Ben and the girl, to the innocent soaked girl behind. Bea felt this, moving her eyes to look at him. He was vaguely familiar, perhaps from videos or photos of the players that Lucy had subjected her to - his brunette hair perfectly faded yet shorter on the top, his eyes wholesome and deep as they creased with his smile, his skin freckled and his dimples prominent.
"Is your friend the chelsea fan then? That's really nice of you to wait out in this with her," the boy smiled, his wind screen wipers fighting with the weather that was attacking the girls on the outside.
"She is, bless her. I don't have a clue about it all, I'm just here for moral support," Bea laughed, taking a step closer to the boys car as she noticed he was parked under a tree.
"Well you must be a really good friend," he smirked, his eyes locking with hers. For some reason, this simple remark warmed her heart as she felt a fluttering in her stomach.
"I'm Mason, by the way," he told her, pulling his Lamborghini to stand behind his friend, so was still invested in Lucy.
"Nice to meet you, Mason. I'm Bea, and that's my best friend Lucy," Bea told him with a friendly smile.
"It's nice to meet you too, dont get me wrong I love meeting fans but it's nice to meet someone who sees you as...normal," he shrugged, scratching the back of his neck. Bea nodded, acknowledging he must have indeed been one of the players.

Soon enough, the yellow car infront sped off, a very tearful and emotional Lucy approaching where Bea stood, still next to Masons window.
"Oh my gosh Bea, he's so lovely," she cried, wrapping her arms around her best friend. Bea and Mason both laughed as she cuddled her friend in response.
"I'm glad you met him, honey," Bea replied as she pulled away.
"You girls should really go and get in and get dry otherwise you're going to catch a cold," Mason mentioned, in a caring nature.
"Yes we can go now," Lucy told Bea and Mason with a smile, quickly getting a photo with the brunette footballer before they agreed to get home.
"It was lovely to meet you girls, see you around," He told them, almost directly to Bea but with a passing glance to Lucy. They both waved, crossing the road and beginning their walk home.

The soggy pair trudged down the road, giggling and smiling about the happiness of their day.
"I just can't believe he knows I exist, Bea. He said he liked my coat and he smelt so good," Lucy awed over the footballer, unaware that a different one had made his way into her best friends mind. Almost in queue, the girls were interrupted by a horn beeping, a car pulling up alongside them.
"You girls aren't walking back are you?! Get in," Mason called out his window with a smile, gesturing to the weather.
"Oh honestly don't worry we'll be-" Bea began.
"Thanks Mase, you've always been my second favourite," Lucy giggled, without hesitation running to the back door. Mason giggled back, his eyes falling back into Bea.
"You getting in, Bea?" He smiled with raised eyebrows, gesturing to the passenger seat.
"Thank you," she smiled, quietly praising him as she headed for the passenger door, embracing the warmth, and the comforting manly smell as she got herself relaxed in the seat next to Mason.
