"Today will just be a normal day, " Xyla murmured trying to calm her nerves. Today was her first day of high school and she wasn't going to be late. School started at 8:30. It was currently 8:15. "Crap, I'm supposed to get to school in fifteen minutes, there's no way I could make it in time to get on the bus and riding with her mom was not an option. Xyla and her mother got into a fight last night and asking anything from her mom would've caused another fight. Today was supposed to be the normal first day of freshman year, but things would not turn out how she intended it to be on her first day.
