The portal opened and brought me back to Dragonspine. I stood there amid a snowstorm, trying to control my emotions.
All those memories back in Khaenriah was coming back to me.
"Hey Y/n..." He called out
"Hm?" I turned to his side. He moved my hair and slid a inteyvat flower on my ear.
"You look good now." He said proudly
"What? Did I not look good earlier?" I joked.
"N-NO! YOUR MISUNDERSTANDING ME!" Enjou said as he was flustered.
"As you say.."
I looked beneath my cloak to find the inteyvat flower that Enjou had given me. Just like Dain once told.
"It would only last two weeks before wilting. But if you were to pluck one and take it out of Khaenri'ah, the petals would stop growing and turn hard."
"Only when it finally returned to its home soil would the petals grow soft once more, and finally turn to dust..."
"Home soil.....home. A thing we don't have. As long as this flower is with me, I know you'll be there for me Enjou." I mumbled and held the hardened flower close to me.
"Y/n." I heard Dain's voice from my back.
"Your back, Captain Dain."
"Yes. I am sorry for what had happened in Enkanomiya-"
"You needn't be sorry of it. For five-hundred years we've been bearing this curse like a burden on our shoulder. I'm sure we can continue burdening it."
A sound of approval was heard from Dain.
"I have another interesting story to tell. My visit to the Chasm was quite interesting. Whatever she is planning, it's her own twin brother that intervenes and ruins it for her." Dain said as he gazed at the snow fall.
"I did run into that boy earlier in Enkanomiya. Had to use some violence."
"What happened?"
"Long story Dain... I'm too tired to explain."
"As you wish. I'm out of here." Dain said as he disappeared.
I smiled slightly and stared at the endless snow falling from the sky, thinking and trying to cherish my moments with Enjou.
